Not having high numbers is exactly why I'm saying that we should take the long way around. Shorter equals more dangerous, and that equals a much higher likelihood that we'll hit zero.

We already have low numbers. As much as it'd be nice to get out of here ... if you have the choice between running through a field full of gross-smelling flowers or a pointy hedge full of bees, you'd wanna go through the flowers.

That aside, it's basic RPG mechanics.

The long path takes you to the central lobby of the asylum. The area is wide, with a high ceiling, and a god-awful amount of dust, dirt and general debris. But, oddly, other than the front counter where a clerk may have sat years and years ago, it is empty. Your footsteps echo as you enter.

Your HORROR MONITOR reacts thus:

7: SIGHT, SOUND.
9: Nothing.
11: SMELL.
