Long would probably be for the best ...
Why not short? Get it done faster!
... Ya really think so?
[Hello, Aoko, this is the new Snake that you're stuck with.]
We, um... We don't have very high of those numbers. Wouldn't it be better to, y'know, get through it quickly?

The shorter route has less items and more danger; we'd probably get hurt a lot more.
Oh.. But we are unharmed at the moment. We could probably chance it while we can.
[ Nodding though. ]
Even though it might put us behind later.

[ ... to her credit, she's been in Kyriakos long enough not to stare. ]
Not having high numbers is exactly why I'm saying that we should take the long way around. Shorter equals more dangerous, and that equals a much higher likelihood that we'll hit zero.

Really?
Then... I guess the long way would be a smarter idea. I mean, of ya really think so.
... And, um... who's gonna wear those goggles?
I don't think they'd really fit me.
[Not really built like a human, y'know.]

We already have low numbers. As much as it'd be nice to get out of here ... if you have the choice between running through a field full of gross-smelling flowers or a pointy hedge full of bees, you'd wanna go through the flowers.
That aside, it's basic RPG mechanics.

I do. [ nodnod. ] I play a lot of RPGs, and this has similar mechanics. Though, obviously, I can't guarantee everything …
[ picks up one of the pairs of goggles ]
They might still fit!

[Stares at those goggles...]
... I really think they won't...
... I really think they won't...
oh. Yeah. Long.
[ Sorry, she's a little distractedand so is her mun, and meant to agree with you. ]
[ Sorry, she's a little distracted
[ THAT'S OKAY ]
Alright! Let's do it.

[ WE ROLLED A 5, and we'll be heading straight up to 14. (2, 7, 9, 11) ]
The long path takes you to the central lobby of the asylum. The area is wide, with a high ceiling, and a god-awful amount of dust, dirt and general debris. But, oddly, other than the front counter where a clerk may have sat years and years ago, it is empty. Your footsteps echo as you enter.
Your HORROR MONITOR reacts thus:
2: Nothing.
7: SIGHT, SOUND.
9: Nothing.
11: SMELL.
Choose how to spend your ADRENALINE (10 points per use).

The 7 space looks extra dangerous...
No kidding ...
So, we don't need to do anything for two and nine, but we should mark the others.

We have plenty of adrenaline!
Everything else seems sound. I think there's nothing else we need to do, right?

Mm! That's right.
