Something that measures, I think. Something to measure weight, or maybe time? Possibly temperature, but that's probably not too much of a concern here.

Don't have a sun. But there's sand timers, or fancy liquid timers, where they have different densities.

...no. Just kind of basic concepts. Not even sure what the liquids would be.

And we could still get fancy. Like have it be a twist top and you can twist it to the time you want it to do. Like this much sand does ten minutes, this does fifteen. Could even have a set like a ten minute timer with minute increments, a thirty with fives, and six hours with half hours.
