AMALTHEA

[ Well. You're in an elevator now. A gross, rusty elevator.

There are buttons on the panel in front of you, all team-coloured and numbered. Above the door are two panels, one indicating what floor you are on, and the other indicating what floor every other team is on.

The voice comes in through the intercom again: ]

Subject has a tendency to subconsciously cast spells in her sleep. This ranges from mildly inconvenient to wildly disastrous, due to the state of altered reality it creates.

The most recent incident involved a scenario wherein several of her classmates, including myself, were on their way to an unspecified business meeting. However, the building was dilapidated and upon entering the elevators we found they did not function as they should. We were, then, told by malicious spirits haunting the building that the only way out was to reach the top and make it to the meeting, by using the control panels to try to drop the other elevators into the boiler room. Where they would, ah, boil.

As you can tell, this is patently ridiculous. Dreams usually are. She has been reading too many horror stories and dramas, I suppose.

The incident previous to that involved --

Well, this should be easy enough. Try to move ourselves up each turn, evenly spread out ups to each of our allied teams, and try to scatter down points to the others in the same manner.

[ A FROWN. ]

... hopefully the 'boil' part isn't literal in here.

Why should we up anyone, though?

It is a suboptimal strategy for our own victory.

Our friends will probably do the same for us, that's why! It'd be pretty rude not to at least help them out in a couple of rounds if their support ends up helping us by voiding any downs we get, too. Or to push them ahead of somebody else if they're still behind us.

Since we get to see where everybody is, we can at least strategize that way. If an allied team is close to us, we can help another one that's more below so they still don't pass us, while we try to keep the others down.

... but not too far down, since I don't really want to test what'll happen if somebody plummets too far.

...I suppose. [Shrug.]

Then, for the first round. Obviously, we raise ourselves. And the others?

Well, for the first round, we can use all three for downs! On other teams. From there, if any of our friends are lower than them, we can give them some support to at least give them a chance without letting them pass us.

Maybe Henwen, Barghest and Tiamat?

That is acceptable. I shall turn it in.

Amalthea up.

Henwen, Barghest, Tiamat down.

[ ... Scratching his arm, annoyed. ]

Nnrgh...

[ But then looking at those results. ]

Epona for a down, this time? Maybe Tiamat again, too ... or Ratatoskr, depending on ... well. [ Gives a half shrug because what even is our thing with them now did we ever sort that out. ]

Maybe we can give an up to Alectryon this time, since they've gone down quite a bit.

Alectryon may go up, but I would suggest downing Epona and Dawon. We do not want them ahead of us.

Technic mentioned that he was going to talk to Dawon when we spoke about alliances, but I didn't hear back from him before he ... went with Waldemar the other day.

[ There is fussworry in his voice because of the note he left. ]

[She shakes her head.]

Even if we and two other teams hit them, they will be at ten points.

It is not worth worrying over.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] unguilded 2014-10-18 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not worrying, but I don't like hitting any teams we're allied with for anything, since we trust them not to do the same to us, even if we're ahead.

But ... if Dawon is still in limbo since we're not 100% sure on it, we can use a down on them at least this once. I'll apologize to them after the game and talk to whoever was playing, so we can get a sure answer about making things official so we know for sure, next time!

[ Thumbs up. ]

Then it is agreed. Epona, Dawon, and one up for ourselves. Then, one for Alectryon.

Well, it is sort of business when it has to do with alliances. [ Scratching at his neck. ] So we know for sure who not to target and don't make any bad mistakes by accident... thankfully this isn't a bad game so it's not urgent, but--

[ Trying to reach for his back. ] this is plenty annoying on its own!!
