AMALTHEA

[You find yourself in a bright white room, the door locked shut behind you. There's a long glass table in the middle of the room, with an unsealed envelope on top—it contains your instructions; if you can't read them yourself, you'll hear Nyssa's voice whispering in your ear, reading them aloud for you. Surrounding the table are enough glass chairs for everyone to sit down.

The floor is made of glass, and taking up most of the wall opposite the door is a window. The room beyond is currently empty …]

The additional pardons seem a fool's errand.

Maybe. [Said coldly, looking over the list of murders.]

If we really feel we need to, a bruise is practically nothing.

[ Rook's expression flashes from fuck Nyssa fuck Nyssa fuck Nyssa fuck Nyssa so much, to one of a very brief, focused stare at the pardons and those rules ... and then back to fuck Nyssa fuck this. ]

It's least pardons, not simply ... having one. So in the end even having more to spread out doesn't mean anything when we don't know what other people are going to choose.

And I ... don't want to pick any of these by judging what I think deserves one the most. We don't know how bad these have been twisted, and more than that ... we don't know how the people feel about these things they're being called out for.

So ... I would suggest just picking odd numbers for this round, instead of being ... specific.

So one pardon each for 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9?

Perhaps.

I will say this: the final one gives me some interesting information.

I would like to allow it to be one of the victims to confirm a theory.

Yeah...

Why do you want to use a lawyer on that one?

I wish to confirm a theory. If it is correct, a certain person will die if it is selected as a target.

--for that, someone will have to keep track of who has died, of course. But that should be easy.

You think you know who it is.

[A lilt in his tone, as though that doesn't surprise him, either.]

Naturally.

Any objections to testing it?
