Welcome to Jambudvipa!

Well, specifically, Gangaridai, a jungle region in the easternmost part of the subcontinent of Jambudvipa, which is currently under the rule of the semi-native Gurkhani Empire. It's a ~*strange and mystical land*~...well, at least to all of you.

You, the EXPLORERS, are here from The United Empire, in order to learn the lay of the land and discover ANCIENT AND HIDDEN TREASURE. And maybe even convince the Gurkhani emperor to sponsor your expeditions through the jungles and ruins of this region.

The trials that await you and how you handle them will determine the fate of the region, and perhaps the entire nation, in the years to come...

The rules of this game are simple! You will be presented with a series of scenarios, and the goal is to accomplish them in such a way that it furthers your group's goal, to the best of your ability! In order to aid you in this, you have a SPECIAL ABILITY that you can use once during the game!

EXPLORERS - Can perform one WILD FEAT OF ACROBATICS, ATHLETICISM, AND ACTION ARCHAEOLOGY.

ROUND ONE

Landfall!

You are, of course, not the first foreigners to arrive on these shores. The United Empire has sent several ships and advance parties already, but the Gurkhani have been less than accepting of them. This time, however, it'll be different.

You've already commandeered an old base camp at the edge of the jungle, and the ship you came on has a wide array of carpentry, mining (including a few sticks of dynamite!), and construction tools, but very little supplies. There's a quarry not too far away, even.

You need to set to work improving the camp to defend it in case you are attacked. Currently, a few natives from a nearby village are watching you and your crew as you prepare.

...I guess we can't negotiate with them?

Do we ever get to negotiate with anyone?

[his only answer to that is a put-upon sigh]

It's going to be hard to build traps while they watch us.

Should we try and distract them? Or bribe them with food or something?

[murimurimuri]

I'm not so sure what's going to stop them from coming after us while we build, either.

We gotta do something otherwise they'll just report back and find a way to counter our efforts.

But if capture or kill them, it'd just bring on the rage of the villagers.

Let's get back on our ship and go home.

[secare]

I don't. . . Think that's an option.

Maybe we can build a wall? Too high for them to see while we make traps and stuff?

[murimurimuri]

If we're building a wall, maybe we can just use that to protect ourselves to begin with.

[secare]

A wall's only gonna do so much though. Like what if they start firing arrows or something?

Like flaming arrows!!

You got me. Build a catapult?

[secare]

Good idea! We can try and fight from inside the wall once we get it set up.

And use the back to sneak out so we can explore for ourselves?

[murimurimuri]

Works for me.

[secare]

( they've made plans to build a wall and then a catapult to protect base camp. )

[soulping]

[ Your camp is now secured! Your catapult serves to scare any natives lingering around who may have thought of looting, as well. ]

ROUND TWO

[soulping]

A few weeks have passed, and your outpost has begun to thrive. Now that you're properly established, and things seem to be going fine, it's time to pay the nearby village a proper visit.

The people here seem to be a lot more okay with you than you'd been expecting -- a talk with the village's ruler should help to figure out why. Other than that, points of interest are the healer, a leper that the villagers consider to be possessed and lives on the outskirts, and some frenzied yelling coming from deeper in the jungle.
