TIAMAT/EPONA

RULES:

• In this game you take control of a post-apocalyptic community attempting to build itself up over the course of one year, before the mysterious Frost Shepherds arrive to end the game. The goal is to rebuild the community through creative responses, and to survive!

• Every turn represents a two months. The Frost Shepherds will arrive in the second winter - You need to be prepared!

• There will be eight seasons total.

• During each turn, a player draws a card. The characters discuss which response to answer, and turn in an answer. This answer will develop what happens to the community over the years.

• You can also submit an action for the community to take every round! This shouldn't be overly complicated*, and you can't magically make up resources - You'll need to rely on what you've got, and your answers to the cards.

• Drawing a card: Every card contains information and choices you can make. Here's an online card shuffler you can use.

Only draw the suit of cards that matches the season:
Hearts = Spring
Diamonds = Summer
Clubs = Autumn
Spades = Winter.

Do not repeat cards! If you get the same card twice, re-roll.

• Failure to build defences against the Frost Shepherds, improve the community or make all resources necessary for survival abundant by the last round will land you in trouble.

*If it is, you might not like where the action goes.

Your runner will be Rikki.

7 of hearts.
fuhrinkaed: (Well that isn't good.)

...well, I guess we should continue with the ornery old people angle. Everyone sleeps on a bunch of comfy beds, but the old people are angry because those darn kids don't know how good they have it. Back in our day, we had to sleep for six hours in the snow, uphill both ways!

Or something?

That sounds alright to me. But we refuse to give up any comfort from ourselves in order to make a point, because we are cold. And old.

Where does everyone sleep? Who is unhappy
with this arrangement, and why?

We all sleep on comfy, warm beds. The old people are angry because the kids have it too easy these days

We work on a way to crossbreed a winter resistant lawn! We will have the plushest lawn year round!

Yeah. Now let's get ready to make those frost guys get off our lawn.

...after we protect it from frost in general.

[No, I am gonna laugh.]

Well, that sounds like the perfect card. Ever. Of all time.

Personally, I vote we're whichever option.

We start a foolish project to protect our lawns with trapped lawn gnomes.

[Yeah, no, his efforts to not laugh were definitely in vain.]

Those goshdarn pesky gnomes, always spreading weeds around.

No like, we build lawn gnomes out of the rubble of the fortress, right? And then we trap them.

That'll keep those whippersnappers guessing. And in the meanwhile, we can work on whipping our militia into shape with training drills.

[P-pffffft.]

I like it. Let's do it.

Clearly our old people status makes us awesome at drills.
fuhrinkaed: (I guess I could shoot at it.)

A headstrong community member decides to put one of their ideas in motion. Start a foolish project.

One of the old kooks starts a project to carve lawn gnomes from the rubble in order to turn them into traps to use against invaders against our immaculate lawn.

We will also start a official militia training regimen to keep the young militia whippersnappers in shape and fighting as a team! Hooray military exercises.
