TAKSHAKA and AMALTHEA
The walls of the hedge maze close in around you. Before you is a single stone table covered in quill pens and several sheets of parchment. Even if you normally cannot read or write, for the time being, you find that you can.

[ glancing around from the maze closing in like that, obviously tense, but it doesn't seem like last game . . . ]
This is it?

. . . I think so? I've never been to a game before, so I don't know.

You're new.
[ he doesn't seem annoyed by that, more matter-of-fact ]
Hopefully this is all there is to it. I haven't been in too many games, so I don't know if they're all straightforward.

Yeah. I'm Hawk.
[a pause, maybe a little bit awkward]
Should we just play, then? It doesn't seem that hard.

[ sorry, Hawk, he's like this ]
Mm, we should. [ looks at the blanks needed ]
. . . Swimsuits.

It's nine letters. It could fit the top slot.

I guess so, yeah. Let's just use that.
Um... we could go with 'waters' or 'watery' if we wanted for going down, but 'watery' would be harder to find words for.

Either would be good. We can leave both options out there if we think of something. Maybe save that four last.
E . . . East? Or we can keep with the water theme. That's okay with me, too.

I don't think it matters as long as it works, does it? Unless you really want to keep the water theme.

It's easier going with whatever works. Let's go with "East."
Any suggestions for the last word?

Assist, if we stay with 'waters'.

That's fine. Swimsuits, Waters, East and Assist.
[ he'll take the pen up to write these down if there are no objections? in the proper order, of course]
