You step into a small airy room made entirely of porcelain and frosted glass. Squishy armchairs — the old fashioned type; pretty velvet affairs with patterns of roses in your team’s color and legs of dark wood — line the walls.

Pride of place in the center of the room is a table, upon which rests: a list of instructions; a spread of cards; and a box made out of mirrored glass with eleven slits in the top. Each slit is outlined in a team color.

Beyond the table is a huge, floor to ceiling hourglass. A certain number of blood red crystals reside at the bottom ...

What's going on...?

It's a game. We play three cards against three teams.

It was bound to happen.

I've done this already. At this point, nothing surprises me.

We better decide which cards and which teams. Hopefully if we get more cards through, we can buy a shield.

This is my second time.

The deage card isn't as bad as the others. Annoying, but not physically damaging.

The first card...It doesn't seem bad, though I have to wonder if the action will have greater significance later.

It depends on who takes that card. I doubt there'll be medical aid between rounds, but I rather play high cards and have them go through. Swift kill isn't actually that bad.
