TAKSHAKA

You step into a small airy room made entirely of porcelain and frosted glass. Squishy armchairs — the old fashioned type; pretty velvet affairs with patterns of roses in your team’s color and legs of dark wood — line the walls.

Pride of place in the center of the room is a table, upon which rests: a list of instructions; a spread of cards; and a box made out of mirrored glass with eleven slits in the top. Each slit is outlined in a team color.

Beyond the table is a huge, floor to ceiling hourglass. A certain number of blood red crystals reside at the bottom ...

Those... weren't there before...

... I have... a list. Of who played what on us, last time this game happened.

[nods]

It's not the first time... It wasn't this bad last time, though.

She added new ones. Worse ones.

Some of them don't even seem that bad, but then...

[you get stuff like slow kills]

[nods, before pulling a paper out of nowhere and handing it to magpie]

We can't rely on it, not after this much time has passed.

I'll show Magpie anyway, so she knows how it went before.

Itching powder is nowhere near as bad as a slow kill. I'm not saying it's good, either, but they can't be compared, either.

Alectryon... Is the obvious of threats from this. Yet with such change of teams, what can we do but guess?
