→ your characters are aware that going backwards is an awful idea, and shouldn't be attempted. if they leave an area, they can't backtrack, but that definitely does not mean they will not ( somehow ) end up back there.

→ in every zone aside from zone 00 and zone 02, you're more than welcome to partner up with someone else!

→ all abilities/powers are on, and characters have all items on them, including weapons.

ZONE 00

[soulping]

[ there's a white nothingness that stretches as far as one's eyes can see--no window, no door, no sky, no visible roof. just nothing. but it seems like everyone else has gotten stuck in the same nothingness. . . spread across it for miles and miles. perhaps you've landed close to a friend, a teammate, or maybe you can just barely see the closest person, as they stand far, far away.


however, there's definitely something else out there. there's a feeling in your gut, that if you just look hard enough, call loud enough. . you'll find it. ]

ZONE 01

[soulping]

[ everything's black, lights slowly streaming in as if you're just waking up--like your eyes are just starting to get used to all the light and as soon as they do it's. . a bit overwhelming.

because everything's on fire,buildings have turned into smoldering rubble, pieces falling off of them rapidly and there you are, standing in the middle of what looks like modern-day Japan--just watching everything burn. ]

ZONE 02

[ remember that giant fucking span of nothingness that this whole mess started in?? good job, you have gotten back to it. you're a real trooper.

at least the shadowblort is looking a lot more friendly this time. ]

ZONE 03

[ it looks like you've made it back to kyriakos! or. . well, the Queen's castle, as it had been before nyssa took over and the world's got swapped.

everything is a bit blurry around the edges, but you're standing right outside the castle door, facing forward. the door's wide open and inviting you in, if you'd like to. you know there's no turning back, especially from here. ]

ZONE 04

[soulping]

[ mirrors. there are mirrors everywhere. on every wall, coating the floor, coating the ceiling. the only thing you can see in them is yourself, and the door you had gone through to get in here? is gone.

you're all alone with only yourself to keep you company. well yourself, and the soft laughter of nyssa, coming from above. it's terrifying enough to give you chills through your spine. it's. . enough to break someone, isn't it? feeling this useless, this weak, this unable to do anything to stop anything, there's so many people who have gotten hurt, and it's all your fault, you couldn't protect them, you couldn't do anything, you only sat and watched as people died and did nothing.

what kind of monster are you. . ? ]

ZONE 05

[soulping]

[ something flashes a bright white before your eyes, erasing everything in sight before--

suddenly, there's a classroom? and you're sitting at a desk close to the window, and you could swear there's a teacher speaking, droning on about something unimportant.

but there's no one else in the classroom aside from you. the notes on the desk you're sitting at are almost impossible to read, much too messy. there are a few parts written in english ( ? you think, the shapes look similar ), while the majority of it is in very messy hiragana. if you take the time to look it over, some of it looks mildly important, like don't drink the water and the end of mankind but it's. so hard to make out more than that. who wrote this, a three year old? ]

[ This is INTENSELY WORRISOME. Briar acknowledges there are people in the distance he theoretically could approach, but also: Nah. He's going to try and resolve this himself. ]

[ Time to go looking for whatever is urging him onwards! ]

[ the voice is soft, almost feminine, and is definitely coming out of fucking nowhere. ]

[loveinvein]

[ Going to look around for a source of the voice anyway! And otherwise ignore it, because responding to strange voices is definitely a bad idea, right? ]

[dementhralls]

[ mom always said not to talk to strangers. ]

[ the more you walk, the less distinct the voice's direction seems to come from; it echoes, ringing through the entire plane, bouncing off invisible walls and seeming to sound closest to you. ]

[ Spins on his foot to looks beside him or behind him or something, heartrate up and more than a little disturbed! Forget not talking to the voice, I guess. ]

[dementhralls]

[ blackness wells up from the ground, white space becoming tainted with black mistfog that coils, rising up to loom over you dangerously close—glowing red orbs, which could possibly be eyes, gaze piercingly, hauntingly. ]

[ the voice whispers, soft and laughing and taunting ]

[ He hates this already. But he refuses to be intimidated, so he just stares back and thinks fast, piecing what little he's aware of together. ]

... you're that demon. "Ashuramaru"?

[dementhralls]

[ it's silent, for a moment. ]

Hooh. So you know me?

[ toothy white breaks apart the black mass, just under its orbs, in a great big menacing grin. ]

That makes this easier. Leave this place—you can't have it.

[loveinvein]

I'm not here to take it.

[dementhralls]

Then leave.

[ the shadows slowly dissipate, leaving behind--a very small girl? guy? balancing on top of the hilt of a sword. more specifically, the sword that alya carries around at his waist. ]

[loveinvein]

[ YEP, THAT SURE CONFIRMS EVERYTHING. ]

I would if I could. But I doubt Nyssa would let me.

[dementhralls]

That's not my problem! Get out! Get out!

[ blackness coils around you, and suddenly, the floor opens up to swallow you whole. ]

[loveinvein]

[ Coughs, because that's a lot of fire which means that's a lot of smoke and this is all very unwanted!! Time to try to make his way OUT of said rubble and fire, thanks. ]

[soulping]

[ there's. . a clear path going left, and it seems like the further it goes, the less rubble and fire there is, as if whatever awful thing happened to this area, never hit that place at all.

but forward--the path gets worse, and there's the low rumble of a car engine in the distance. ]

[loveinvein]

[ Let's avoid the clearly dangerous path and go left! ]

[soulping]

[ the further to the left mika goes, the more fuzzy the path seems. blurred around the edges. it's almost impossible to make out any details, even if he stops to stare at them.

but at the end. . is a fairly nice-sized building, and even without being able to tell what kind of building it is, you recognize it as home almost immediately. ]

[ BEELINES ]

[ the sliding door opens up wide into the living room and. . there's really not much to it. the furniture's all overturned, there are several liquor bottles scattered across the floor, and some children's toys ( blocks, plush toys ), as well as a cabinet under the table with. . a stain leading from it, over to the open kitchen situated at the other side of the room.

is it just you, or does it feel very, very cold in here. ]

[ Oh. He doesn't know this place, but he knows enough about Yuu to hazard a good guess about what this all is. After all, his first memory was acknowledging their abuse. ]

[ Mikaela steps inside carefully, and doesn't touch anything. Just observing it with pursed lips, before inspecting the stain closer. ]
