You're free falling through the sky, faster and faster with nothing to slow you down. Your heart pounds in strange excitement and fear and just when you think you might hit the ground —

The wind catches you, slows your fall to a gentle float until you land on the ground as a mischievous laugh echoes in your ears.

☆ Powers are off! Characters may be able to tell their powers are still there, but they can’t access them. Exceptions to this rule are abilities a regular human could have and things like enhanced senses.
☆ They still have whatever items they had on them at the time they entered the heart and can access any inventories they have.
☆ If your character sees a memory, it will be as though they’re living it instead of just viewing it.
☆ Unless otherwise stated, characters can backtrack freely.

START

You open your eyes and find yourself sprawled out on your back at a crossroads, staring straight up at a clear, starry sky and the crescent moon that shines down. A cool breeze rustles the grass and touches your face; it feels encouraging.

Four paths stretch out from the crossroads, each leading in a cardinal direction: One north, one south, one east and one west. The northern path seems to lead to a towering tree, visible even from this distance, while the southern path heads straight to a mountain whose peak is hidden by clouds. The path to your left goes on and on and on with no destination in sight. The one on your right looks like it would take you straight into a forest. A hastily built sign post with four branches is stuck up in the grass.

When you move, you feel something small and round in your left hand.

TREEHOUSE

[soulping]

You approach a tree that is, quite frankly, unnecessarily huge. It towers above you and casts a heavy shadow all around it as its leaves rustle in the wind. It would be too dark to see if someone hadn't set brightly coloured lights along the rest of the path and the rail of the walkway that winds around the tree and into its branches. The lights are in thirteen colours set in a repeating pattern - every team in Kyriakos is represented. High up, you can see lights shining behind the leaves.

[ Well, she was going to move, but then she felt something in her hand so she raises it to look at it. ]

[ checking out what's in her hand. it feels like it could be a pokeball, is it? ]

THE MOUNTAIN

[soulping]

The closer you get, the bigger the mountain looks. Bigger and bigger until you’re standing at the base, where it looks like climbing it would take forever and a day. There’s probably a great view from up there. Pokemon live in the grassy plains beside the road and even on the mountain side, Fire types, Rock types, Water types and Ground types are frolicking happily.

Ahead of you, a short set of stairs picks up where the path leaves off and leads up the mountain where a large alcove has been carved into the mountainside.

THE FOREST

[soulping]

The forest is thick and poorly lit, the canopy of treetops making it hard for any light to find its way through (though a some does shine down in patches). Despite the darkness, it feels safe enough here... Maybe a little sad, too.

You can see curls of smoke drifting above the treeline, too small to be a forest fire; Maybe someone is camping here?

The road continues into the forest, where Pokemon roam freely.

A Kirlia appears in a burst of light and does a little twirl.

Out pops a Combusken who kicks the air enthusiastically.

I've never seen a Pokemon like you before. ... Are you here to help me, then?

The Kirlia answers in a series of trills and hums that Lark can get the gist of somehow; She is a Kirlia, and Lark can give her a nickname if she wants to.

Give your Kirlia a nickname?

Combusken nods vigorously before chirruping. Hiyori can understand what the Pokemon means by it: She's a Combusken, and is here to be Hiyori's partner!

Do you want to give your Combusken a nickname, Hiyori?

Oh! Uhm.... I'm not very good with names. But...

Well what do you think of 'Ren,' Combusken?

[ that fiery fighting spirit of Combusken's reminds her of her older friend from gulgallana ]

Combusken kicks the air again before dashing in a circle around Hiyori. It looks like a definite 'yes'.

Since it's Sparrow's heart, as a trainer, I should go where my Pokemon's type is likely to have the greatest advantage... right?

The Kirlia seems to like the name, doing an impromptu dance that ends in a pirouette.

It takes a few minutes of uneventful walking but Roc reaches the forest with Ren at her heels...
