A period of time where various superpowers possessed the ability to completely wipe each other out of existence at the push of a button. "Mutually assures destruction" was what it was called. They kept a constant watch on eachother, paranoid that the other side was going to use it, preparing to use it themselves before the other side can do the same to them.
Most likely, a team that doesn't push the button. In the end, this is a trust game. Can we trust each other well enough to not push the button, knowing that we'll probably die if we don't?
Strictly speaking, the echoes can't lie in their rules, but the statement itself is that "they might or they might not", so we really have no way to be sure. The only way to be sure you're safe is to push the button, which is... most likely, going to affect other teams.
Right now? If it's really a war thing, pressing it will probably launch something. Like, a rocket or some shit. If nobody presses it, nothing gets blown up.
