[ A small team-coloured building awaits in front of you, ready for you to assume direct control! Can your business withstand the turbulent waters of capitalism? ]
You will start with TWO THOUSAND MONIES. Every day, there will be an informational NEWSPAPER, which will update you on the status of the world and major events in other factories, allowing you to adjust your own workings accordingly. You will then have the opportunity to spend money on a variety of options, and make IMPORTANT DECISIONS regarding the operation of your factory. As the game progresses, more decisions and options will be available, but at any time you may try anything you can think of using the OTHER option!
Every day, AT LEAST ONE EVENT will happen, but more are possible depending on the actions of other factories. The winners will be the ones with the most profitable factories.
No NEWSPAPER today. Instead, you must choose what this factory will be producing initially. This can be changed later on, or additional production can be added on, but it will be AT A COST.
Other options that can be taken this day:
HIRE WORKERS - $VARIABLE/day per worker, see below EXPAND FACTORY - add a type of production, $500 flat cost SECURITY MEASURES - add 1 level of security for $20/day per level SAFETY MEASURES - add 1 level of safety for $20/day per level INCREASE WAGES - increase the wage of workers by whatever amount you choose DECREASE WAGES - decrease the wage of workers by whatever amount you choose INDUSTRIAL SPIES - send agents to other factories, $15/day per agent sent BUILD RAILROAD - builds a railroad obv, flat $200 cost OTHER - do you want to do a thing not listed here? write it in and you'll be given a price
You must also ASSIGN WORKERS. Once assigned, workers will cost you MONIES PER DAY, which can be decreased or increased with the above options. All workers will improve profit, with advertisers, clerks, and craftsmen having the most direct effect, and administrators and miners being second by increasing efficiency. Security's effectiveness depends on how many SECURITY MEASURES you have taken.
Oh, it is. I've been trained since birth to be a potential heir to a world-wide medical corporation. Luckily for us, that's one of the skills I have back.
[Millions of factories. Just ask he doesn't mind answering things '^'!
Hopefully it means we'll win.
["We will win" his tone seems to say.]
It's tempting, but I don't believe we should expand until we have more funds coming in. I also fair due to the nature of this being a game we'll have strikes from employees over money, but we're better off raising wages when we have more funds to go back on. Not to mention, if we raise it now and we don't have the funds to give them more it will go badly for us.
You're right. I just mean we can't do anything about the wages at the moment as we don't know where are funds will be coming from.
We should preemptively buy security measures and safety measures, so that would be forty dollars right there. We should probably get two advertisers for right now, that way the word is getting out. So that's a total of eighty between the two. We could also start with ten miners and five craftsmen.
So far that's 180 dollars in one day, which would be a safe bet. The working conditions would be safe for the employees, so that would keep them from choosing to strike early on. And if we wanted to we could add clerks, securities, and administration safely. One of each would bring it to 235 and unless we lost a great deal of funds immediately, it'd be safe as well. Even if we lost, say a thousand dollars, we'd still be able to pay the workers and produce for several days.
We're mostly settled for this round, but a question if you'd be willing. How is our factory's current location? Is it in an area where we'll easily be able to access consumers?
The war between Columbia and Atzlan has come to an end, ending in a crushing defeat for Atzlan. Over half of Atzlan’s territory has been ceded to Columbia, which has set to work resettling and building the infrastructure of its newly gained lands.
Meanwhile, new factories have been springing up across Columbia, the United Empire, Kemet, Latium, Tataria, Al-Andalus, the Union of Teutonia, Cathay, and Yamato.
Neustria, defeated by a coalition of nations defending Order and Justice just three decades ago, has been recently wracked by a wave of discontent eerily similar to that that sparked its rise in those dark days...
