AMALTHEA & BARGHEST
You find yourself in a grand throne room, with large, ornate thrones enough for your number to sit. Stringed puppets hang from the high ceiling, dressed and looking like the "citizens" of Ombrie. ...they're all faceless. The singular door that you walked through creaks shut at the beginning of the game.
The kingdom is in shambles. With the death of the most beloved king and your stepson not yet of crowning age, you alone must fight for the right to the throne. In your way stands your adoptive family members, who intend to take the crown for their own greed, though your stepson seems to be supporting you, as does his fiance. With the three of you working together, there's nothing that can stop you. But you must work quickly—these next few weeks are crucial to securing your kingdom.

ROUND 1
COURT
Do you accept his offer?
Re: COURT
If possible, we also have a spy watch his moves.

SOCIAL EVENT
Do you try to lighten the mood of the castle, and if so, how do you do it?
Re: SOCIAL EVENT
The fair is not going to be too crazy extravagant, but not boring either because fuck boring. There will be food, merchants, dancing, games, other activities. Big food/seating area for people to relax and mingle. It's more a way to let the people have fun and relax without trying to steamroll through the grief. It will be on the less financial side to set up and plan, but not too cheap that it sucks. This is because we'll be denying the uncle's financial help and hope to get a little back through the fair.
We will be appearing at the fair; enough to talk to the merchants and people of the kingdom. Because we're denying our uncle-in-law, we'll be doing this to get an idea of 'matters of the nation' from the people themselves, which doubles as a way to show them that we want to be involved with them in making the kingdom prosper. We all work together for this, etc. We won't be ALL OVER THE FAIR because we're still in the being cautious state so want to stay safe, but we will be around here and there and maybe make a speech about working together to follow in the footsteps of the king to BUILD THIS KINGDOM UP!! or something.
We will be carrying a concealed weapon with us that will sap somebody-- non lethal because we won't kill them, if there is any sort of attempt to harm us. We wish to be safe, but we also wish to show mercy because we don't know enough about the kingdom to know if there are just people who turned to desperation or not. Learning this if something happens would also be a lesson in learning about the kingdom, as well as a way to work on things and ensure the people that we will do our best to HELP those people in bad places instead of just shanking them or arresting them or turning our backs on them.

Re: DISCUSSION
We can have all sorts of food and activity. Games, dances, and a huuuuuuge area for tables in the center to sit together, relax and mingle.
We can make an appearance too, to show them that we want to be involved with them and want to work together to rebuild the kingdom to the glory that our king had established.
And if we're refusing our uncle's offer, that'll give us a good chance to learn more about what we can do to better run the kingdom instead of listening to potential lies from him.
ROUND 2
A neighboring country in the south has sent an envoy to negotiate with you. Perhaps it's a sign of war?
COURT
You know that the southern country is a small one; it is prosperous because of its location next to the sea, and thus its imports. However, in terms of firepower, you have the upper hand. It would take a lot of effort and sacrifices on your part, but you're likely to be victorious. Plus, because of its harbor, you'll most certainly net more income as the years go on.
What do you do?

What do you do?
Re: SOCIAL EVENT
And we send a messenger with a gift and a letter stating so, noting that it's only because we're busy what with the recent death of the king and work in reestablishing things in our own country. So we're apologetic for missing it.
But we will extend an invitation to please join us at our own kingdom at some point in the future for an event. That way we'll be playing it safe but not exactly giving them a cold shoulder, either. If they agree to come to us, we'll be able to get a feel for the sort of people they are while making sure we're safe if they're not good.
Also the messenger can give us an idea of how dangerous the countryside is on his journey for future ref.

Also clearly, we should not go to war. There is nothing more destabilizing than the chaos a battlefield can cause.

ROUND 3
It has been recently discovered that your husband was, in fact, poisoned. This was no natural death or the plague, but rather, murder—and your guards may have found the perpetrator.
COURT
You don't think she could have done this. But you are the Queen and you must decide what to do about this possible betrayal. The people are angered and wish to see her executed.
What do you do?
