OMETOTCHTLI + AMALTHEA
Welcome to Jambudvipa!
Well, specifically, Gangaridai, a jungle region in the easternmost part of the subcontinent of Jambudvipa, which is currently under the rule of the semi-native Gurkhani Empire. It's a ~*strange and mystical land*~...well, at least to all of you.
You, the JAMBUDVIPA TRADE COMPANY, are here from The United Empire, in order to establish a trade outpost and begin milking this land and its natives for all they're worth! However, it would probably help you if you start by getting permission from the Gurkhani Emperor...
The trials that await you and how you handle them will determine the fate of the region, and perhaps the entire nation, in the years to come...

RULES
JAMBUDVIPA TRADE COMPANY - Can purchase anything smaller than a city.
ROUND ONE
You are, of course, not the first foreigners to arrive on these shores. The United Empire has sent several ships and advance parties already, but the Gurkhani have been less than accepting of them. This time, however, it'll be different.
You've already commandeered an old base camp at the edge of the jungle, and the ship you came on has a wide array of carpentry, mining (including a few sticks of dynamite!), and construction tools, but very little supplies. There's a quarry not too far away, even.
You need to set to work improving the camp to defend it in case you are attacked. Currently, a few natives from a nearby village are watching you and your crew as you prepare.

TURN-IN
Re: TURN-IN
We also thank the natives for their answers. We tell them we know our word alone isn't enough, but we're not interested in fighting with anybody, and instead want to work with everybody so they can bring trade, which is important, but also give the natives and their land the respect it deserves. And that we hope we can do that. We also offer to help them again if they need anything, and tell them we hope we can offer more help next time around, assuming we get our base fortified and spread out a little more.
We also add that we hope the Emperor does extend an invitation to us, and hopefully if we prove to be respectful he'll do so, and that we hope he'll take note of our aid so far.
Back at the base, we'll send a few men to start fishing for extra food so the workers are eating and energized. And we'll also be sending off some men around the area to scout. Partially to get more of an idea of the surrounding area that the quarry-goers missed, but also to gather any extra supplies to work on the base if they find any. Any villages or areas they come across that seem populated or in use they won't stray too close to out of respect for now. Any areas with materials that don't seem to be in use that are close enough they will gather from.
Re: TURN-IN
ROUND TWO
The people here seem to be a lot more okay with you than you'd been expecting -- a talk with the village's ruler should help to figure out why. Other than that, points of interest are the healer, a leper that the villagers consider to be possessed and lives on the outskirts, and some frenzied yelling coming from deeper in the jungle.
DISCUSSION
Re: DISCUSSION
Either way, maybe we should split up and get things done faster. Do you want to talk to the ruler about their amiability? And I can go ask about that sound...

TURN-IN
Re: TURN-IN
We agree to help the village in exchange for the healer's services, and also so we can expand ourselves a little. We don't take over their village or anything, but we do spread out so we can start to gather more supplies for us. This will hopefully help out our own base in terms of food gathering and the like, maybe even adding another outpost or two somewhere. We let the villagers know that we plan to find out what the state of other similar villages are, and while we will protect them if the Gurkhani attack, we won't seek them out.
If we run into any Gurkhani, we'll make it clear that we don't want to fight, but these villagers helped us out and if it's possible to find a way to avoid this, we're willing to look for it. We'll keep our healer close as well so we don't lose any more villagers if the Gurkhani don't want to ... listen to that.

ACTIONS
Re: ACTIONS
We only have two goals here. One is to secure a thriving form of trade that benefits both us and this land and will continue to do so over generations. The other is to do so in a manner that doesn't steamroll those who have settled here first, but rather work with them so we can perhaps provide even more to trade that we find in these lands, as well as give them something back to the people here-- possibly even in the form of something they currently don't have.
We explain that just like we want to work with, respect (EMPHASIS ON RESPECT) and become friends with the villages we've allied with, we also wish to do the same for you, but not at the price of oppressing the natives. We say we're sure that there's a way this can be done with no fighting and nobody feeling trampled upon.
We in turn ask what the emperor's goals are.
