[These feelings are more familiar, harder to resist. They belonged to her original self, the girl she was before Kyriakos. Long, painful struggles that always ended in crushed hope and bitter despair.

But Hydra keeps going. She's not that girl any more and she knows it, just as she knows that to succumb to this exhaustion would end in doom rather than peace.]

[You climb and climb and climb and]

[There's the violin playing.]

[And you approach the other building! It's old though, very old, more akin to ruins.]

[And there’s Roxy, wearing a simpler outfit. She’s playing a violin.

R...Roxy?

[She sits down once she's closer, breathing hard, drenched with seawater.]

[She glances over, but she keeps playing and now that Hydra can SEE her, well....that whole body language thing is still a thing.]

[And it's disturbingly apparently how tried and sad she is, standing there, and how she seems so very OLD.]

[Heaving herself up slowly and walking over to touch her shoulder.]

Roxy.

[She stops playing.] Sup Hydra.

[DON'T YOU SUP ME

She looks at Roxy's face, then goes for a hug.]

[She doesn't pull away, she doesn't tense, but she...doesn't respond. She just stands there.]

[Defeated, almost. Also...]

[As soon as contact is made, you’ll feel something akin to a static shock. It’s not exactly painful, but you are hyperly aware of the point of contact. Of how warm the other is, how soft, and the sensation is dramatic enough to be rather distracting. The sensitivity doesn’t seem to want to fade anytime soon, and should it be prolonged too long, it wouldn’t be a surprise to be almost overwhelming.]

[She jerks, shudders, but keeps holding on for now. Her face presses into the curve of Roxy's shoulder.]

[The hug changes to a shouldergrip and she shakes Roxy, just once.]

It's all right! That's what it keeps doing!

It doesn't matter what I do, I end up right back here!

Life takes away, I won't say it doesn't! But life gives us so much, too!

[she's a page of light, can't she draw intense attention to that second bit]

[That she can and there's a flicker of longing in Roxy's body language, but she looks away.]

Only so it can take it away again.

.....For someone so scared of being treated like they don't exist, you can at least look at me.

[she's using her active powers without exactly realizing it, trying to infuse her words with an importance that demands attention]

[She looks up and looks pained.]

You're one of the most important people to me whose still around.

It hurts to look at you because that usually means you'll be gone soon enough.

[Her expression gentles, a little.]

I know. And you're the same, for me. But acting like I'm already gone, while I'm standing right here....that's not what you really want to do.

I can't change it.

Maybe not by yourself. And that's okay. It just means I have to help you change it.

[She looks around, at least one hand still on Roxy's shoulder.]
