You're misunderstanding.

The building is Roxy's heart.

THIS is the foundation.

And it's barely changed since she first woke up.

[THIS CONVERSATION KEEPS GOING IN UNEXPECTED DIRECTIONS. he glances down, and places his hand on the building]

[he doesn't know if this'll work, but he tries, anyway. he's in tune with his own self, but if he concentrates-- really concentrates-- can he tap into those KNIGHT OF HEART powers and pick up on the vibes of Roxy's heart, too? And if so, he'll be trying to focus on what kind of feelings he gets from this building]

[Surrounded by cold hardness, earnest, but you're a mascot, a hero, sometimes food, never a person, never Roxy.]

[So far away, in time and space, only words on a screen.]

[You have to watch the world burn before you're allowed to hug someone who loves you.]

[The universe has to be destroyed twice over before you see people like you that amount in the double digits. It still baffles you it's now in the triple.]

[But how do you reach out, how do you connect, how do you trust and learn how to be taken care of, and still be allowed to care for them?]

[How do you make true connections without having to go through hell together?]

[Does it matter though, when you keep losing them?]

[. . . his brows furrow, eyes slip shut. . . he's beginning to understand a little bit more, but not quite enough just yet]

[he pushes that power further, chases those feelings as far as he can, beyond just what they are and what he can do with them. a knight of heart can't just feel feelings, he needs to know how to use them, right. . .? what can I do here? where can I push? what does she need the most?]

[what boundaries do I need to break down here, and how do I accomplish that?]

[She wasn't lying. This room is a FOUNDATION. He can feel it, there are other rooms. At least twelve more, hard to be sure since a few keep on FLICKERING in and out of existence.]

[It's in everything, but there's two. There's one that feels like lightness, goodness, like it almost should have more of a connection here, but the bridge between them has been blown to pieces, smashed to bits.]

[And those broken pieces have been connected to another. To danger and pain and things that can't be fought against.]

[TIME. Time is both change, but also the inevitable and it should be a balance between the two, but it's been shifted to inevitable.]

[She used to believe in change.]

[She doesn't do it so much anymore.]

[fffffocusing on lightness and goodness, mostly because of what Ed said about meeting a light-aspect Roxy, trying to see if he can discern a pathway-- or at least a way to rebuild the shattered one]

[but as far as this room is concerned, he gets it now]

[this building has got to come down]

[he turns towards Roxy, even as he focuses]

She needs change.

[hopping to his feet and staring up, shielding his eyes as he does so. UNFORTUNATELY he cannot fly, so. . . that is not a route he can take at this point in time]

[kicks his feet against the temple roof]

[It looks like it was a ruin modern house.]

[well it's a good thing he talked to true heart Roxy before doing anything MAJORLY BAD. crouching down now and tapping into the feelings of the house again]

[triiiies grabbing a hold of those feelings and using his heart powers to lessen "inevitability" and increase "change." again, he's not sure it'll work, but changing things and its very core might be a place to start. . .]

[he's doing it a bit haphazardly tho, without much real direction]

[Screeching grinding gears, trying to change, trying to shift, but even trying to turn one gear, the others are too far, attached to those rooms, he can't REACH them, can't change them, trying to hold will only break break break breakbr eakb re ak]

[jjjjjerking back with a hiss and rubbing at his face, and the fact that those gears are connected to other rooms didn't escape his notice]

[SIGHS]

Is there a window in your house I can jump through, or do I gotta climb that pyramid again?

[She gestures to the balcony on the side of the house. The door is busted open anyway.]

[hops down onto the balcony easily and then steps through the busted door]

[Through the busted door....into the house!]

[I may have misunderstood and you do have to actually cross the ocean back to the window, ROXY COULD JUST BE TROLLING THOUGH.]

[The house is very much in ruin though. And the stairs are busted, but it seems someone has made a makeshift ladder out of furniture and wizard statues.]

[There are a lot of broken wizards statues and tech.]
