RATATOSKR
You step into a small airy room made entirely of porcelain and frosted glass. Squishy armchairs — the old fashioned type; pretty velvet affairs with patterns of roses in your team’s color and legs of dark wood — line the walls.
Pride of place in the center of the room is a table, upon which rests: a list of instructions; a spread of cards; and a box made out of mirrored glass with eleven slits in the top. Each slit is outlined in a team color.
Beyond the table is a huge, floor to ceiling hourglass. A certain number of blood red crystals reside at the bottom ...

[Grumbling.]
I understand. I do. I don't want to play from a place of anger or hatred. And I'm not going to. That won't hurt Nyssa.....it's just giving up a piece of myself to her, something more vital than a pound of flesh.
But I'm still willing to play the kill card, either now or in a later round, if we have to. If there's nothing else in our hand that can make up for it. Not for revenge, just for points.
It's fair for Sekhmet to be pissed. She saw my corpse after already standing down once before. I know you hate it when people accuse you of being ignorant about situations you're intimately familiar with, and all that shit, but be patient with her.
I'll trust your judgement, because I trust you. Trust me when I say I can't promise not to use the kill card if you're not here and we need the points.

[She takes a breath and let's it out.] Sorry. Sorry, trying to be cool, but- [But you were on the ground, like that, and she's better, the Heart Game helped her SO MUCH, but it's still a herculean effort to keep herself together when GLOSS WAS DEAD.]
I think we can survive without the five points now, with how peeps usually play. Most don't like repeats, three out, if Takshaka or Dawon hits us, it'll be low cards at best, seems unlikely both hit us last round unless it was the cancel...? Did we play on them?
We got a good shot this being the last round. If not, it's five, so we'll....we'll have to play under that assumption next round.
But I get it. I just...I can't let it happen if I think it's avoidable and I'm here. Sorry. But if it's not avoidable then...then it's...not avoidable. [Squeezes Gloss hand, taking shuddering breaths.]

Never hit Takshaka or Dawon. It's been....Ometotchtli and Epona in the first round. Barghest, Tiamat and Amalthea last time.
[Squeezes back weakly, she's tired and in pain.]
I get it, you dummy. You can't, and I can. So while you're here, we'll try our best not to.

[So, sorry if we get another kill card because guess what punishment I'll insist on getting.]
[She nods.]
Thanks. And I'll try to not be too...me that it hurts us.
Sol and I might bake after this. Something chocolatey if you want. [Just...offering, not testing this time.]

That sounds good.....haven't had chocolate in awhile.

[She nods.] Cake and cookies, it's sound like. Have a whole big dinner thing.
no subject
You'll probably....have to handle the baking.
no subject
Can totes do that. Had lots of practice.
[She may stress bake now.]

Bake something for the Cats too, then.

There will be so many cats frosted on whatever it is.

If they feel half as shitty as Sol did after that one memory of his, they'll need 'em.
