You step into a small airy room made entirely of porcelain and frosted glass. Squishy armchairs — the old fashioned type; pretty velvet affairs with patterns of roses in your team’s color and legs of dark wood — line the walls.

Pride of place in the center of the room is a table, upon which rests: a list of instructions; a spread of cards; and a box made out of mirrored glass with eleven slits in the top. Each slit is outlined in a team color.

Beyond the table is a huge, floor to ceiling hourglass. A certain number of blood red crystals reside at the bottom ...

It's not about her being kind. It's about the possibility of a loophole that she didn't predict.

I mean, we can't change what's written on the card. If we play it, it'll happen. But maybe it can be carried out in the way I described, since it would still fulfill the stated criteria of the card.

It still seems unlikely that she would let either us or the receiving team influence the means by which they're knocked unconscious, but... If you think you've found a possible loophole, I don't want to disregard that, either.

Yeah, I don't think it's in her nature to want that kind of thing to happen. But....Echoes are bound by the rules they make up for their games.

Vagueness can be taken advantage of, maybe, if we don't break another rule by trying. How can we be expected to read her mind?

How confident are you that it will work?

I can't guarantee that any team we play that card on, will think to try what I'm talking about. That means assuming way too much about them.

If the card was played on us and we tried it? About fifty percent certain it would work.

...In the last game, people were punished for breaking rules they didn't even necessarily know existed. Just - I know you will be, but please be cautious.

They tried to communicate with another team in a game about solving a puzzle. That wasn't a stated rule, in those terms, but.....it could be construed as cheating.

I think.....from what I understand, most people could deal with a temporary effect like that better than the pain of losing a limb or body part. It's scary, but it doesn't hurt.

I have friends on Gulgallana, so I'd prefer to play the itching card on them, but that choice would be acceptable to me. Shall we ask the others?
