Years ago, you recieved a charter from the United Empire, and were officially made a member of the newly christened Trade Company! Your goal was to seek fortune wherever it may be found in this strange land...of course, through force of arms, if the natives failed to cooperate.

But now things are different. You no longer work for the Empire, but for your homeland of Yamato -- and to a lesser extent, the people you've come to associate here in Jambudvipa. An small, but well trained and equipped army at your back, you are ready to conquer Jambudvipa so that it may better serve your people.

What are you here for? Riches, knowledge, recognition. Your destiny is to carve a path through these savage lands, and to accomplish something that will make you known. The ascent to glory is never easy, but you're confident you will reach those lofty heights.

You find yourself standing in the foyer of the grand Gurkhani Empire.

Your meeting with the Emperor was less than fruitful...but you can salvage this situation. You'll just have to find your glory elsewhere.

Servants and dignitaries of the court wander to and fro through the gilded halls -- it seems there's a party of some sort going on? In the dining hall cabinets of finely-crafted porcelain dishware and sculptures line the walls, and several of the hallways feature prominent portraits of the royal family.

To the NORTH appears to be the THRONE FOYER.
To the SOUTH is the exit to the CAPITAL CITY OF AGRA.

I think it's worth hitting up the party as long as we're careful about it.

Just eat a little and mingle? Something like that?

Something like that. If it looks too formal or someone seems to notice we weren't invited, we slip out. But I think that's the best place to start looking for a lead.

What was it that that girl said? "When you do something, think of it as if ten thousand people were doing it"...? Ugh, what if eating at all sets off something awful...

I think we take that risk by simply existing. Awful stuff just happens whether you provoke it or not.

You mean everyone is going to think to sneak into the party?

...Well, it's not unlikely. But if that is the case, then our intrusion should be even less noticeable. Though I agree it's perhaps better not to eat anything we find in here.

Actually, there really seems to be a lot of commoners around in this party anyway. The tables are loaded with every sort of food you can imagine -- and there are servants, though they're only serving the nobility. Everyone else is left to their own devices.
