ALECTRYON
Years ago, you recieved a charter from the United Empire, and were officially made a member of the newly christened Trade Company! Your goal was to seek fortune wherever it may be found in this strange land...of course, through force of arms, if the natives failed to cooperate.
But now things are different. You no longer work for the Empire, but for your homeland of Yamato -- and to a lesser extent, the people you've come to associate here in Jambudvipa. An small, but well trained and equipped army at your back, you are ready to conquer Jambudvipa so that it may better serve your people.
What are you here for? Riches, knowledge, recognition. Your destiny is to carve a path through these savage lands, and to accomplish something that will make you known. The ascent to glory is never easy, but you're confident you will reach those lofty heights.
You'll reach the top, or die trying.

START
Your meeting with the Emperor was less than fruitful...but you can salvage this situation. You'll just have to find your glory elsewhere.
Servants and dignitaries of the court wander to and fro through the gilded halls -- it seems there's a party of some sort going on? In the dining hall cabinets of finely-crafted porcelain dishware and sculptures line the walls, and several of the hallways feature prominent portraits of the royal family.
To the NORTH appears to be the THRONE FOYER.
To the SOUTH is the exit to the CAPITAL CITY OF AGRA.
Re: START
So we just choose...?
Re: START
I think it's worth hitting up the party as long as we're careful about it.

CITY GATES
Guards stand watch at the towers, and on either side of the gates' ground level. Caravans are checked as they pass in and out.
Atop the gates is a gigantic sculpture depicting a vile green monkey, skewered on the tusks of a garish yellow-green boar. It is evidently supposed to symbolize the defeat of the rebellion three years ago, which definitely happened. The rebel scum is no longer a threat, at all.
There is no war in Jambudvipa.
To the WEST is WEST CITY.
To the NORTH is MARKET STREET.
To the SOUTH is the SHRINE OF LIGHT.

There is literally nothing of interest here, probably.

GUILD OF HEROES
Some of them are up for hire -- there is a noticeboard listing them, if you'd care to look. The guildmaster is nearby, lounging behind the counter.
And also a gnoll, apparently.
The noticeboard currently has the following advertisements:
Hi, my name's Aoko and I'm a pacifist.A bard seeking a song to sing~!
I'll help get your hooks into anything.
I... can guarantee a fun time for all?I will burn it all.
Will serve Justice.Your one-stop shop for excellent company (and even better jokes)!
To the EAST is the WEST QUARTER.
Re: GUILD OF HEROES
[But is it really wise to hire a hero before we even know what side of the conflict we're pretending to be on?]

OLD CITY
...The people seem much more active than normal, conferring in small groups on the street and in the buildings and casting suspicious glances around. Occasionally you catch a glimpse of badges pinned to their clothing with the image of a scorpion on it.
The streets seem to have been recently cleaned, and they speak of one called THE SWEEPER.
The streets are now riddled with all sorts of furniture -- the people are running to and fro, eyeing you suspiciously, but going about their business of -- barricading the streets? Most of them -- old and young -- are wearing badges depicting the image of a scorpion. Many of them are armed, though they vary wildly from actual weapons to weaponized farming implements. You can feel the tension in the air, and you feel that something big is about to happen...
To the NORTH is a GAURDED TAVERN.
To the EAST is THE MARKET.
To the SOUTH is WEST CITY.
Re: OLD CITY
That tavern doesn't exactly look inviting for a tavern, but that might mean it's where we need to go. [at least we have a hero now]
[even lower voice]
And has anyone else noticed all the matching accessories? I think we found something like what we were looking for.

GUARDED TAVERN
In fact, you definitely did, because the barkeep just grabbed it by the tail, smashed it into the table until it died, and tossed it through the doors into the kitchen.
You may not want to eat here.
Most of the people here are wearing badges with the image of a scorpion on them. All of them are heavily armed.
To the SOUTH is the OLD CITY.
