Years ago, you recieved a charter from the United Empire, and were officially made a member of the newly christened Trade Company! Your goal was to seek fortune wherever it may be found in this strange land...of course, through force of arms, if the natives failed to cooperate.

But now things are different. You no longer work for the Empire, but for your homeland of The Heavenly Kikngdom -- and to a lesser extent, the people you've come to associate here in Jambudvipa. With alcohol and opium filling your holds, you are ready to make a fortune at the expense of the people living here.

What are you here for? Riches, knowledge, recognition. Your destiny is to carve a path through these savage lands, and to accomplish something that will make you known. The ascent to glory is never easy, but you're confident you will reach those lofty heights.

You find yourself standing in the foyer of the grand Gurkhani Empire.

Your meeting with the Emperor was less than fruitful...but you can salvage this situation. You'll just have to find your glory elsewhere.

Servants and dignataries of the court wander to and fro through the gilded halls -- it seems there's a party of some sort going on? In the dining hall cabinets of finely-crafted porcelain dishware and sculptures line the walls, and several of the hallways feature prominent portraits of the royal family.

To the NORTH appears to be the THRONE FOYER.
To the SOUTH is the exit to the CAPITAL CITY OF AGRA.

Oh, this is another pretending game? Well then!

It seems you do not actually have the booze. You seem to recall that your camp is located past the place the locals call the Feywood, in the jungles to the south...it's easy to get lost there, but you're pretty sure you were supposed to go east, and then south once you step into the magical part of the jungle.

Welcome to the Grand City of Angra! You find yourself on the main thoroughfare, markets lining the streets, and beggars and orphans seeking coin loitering about. Everyone is busy, busy, as you should be, right? Unless, of course, you have something you'd like to buy.

To the WEST is the OLD CITY.
To the EAST is the NOBLE QUARTER.
To the NORTHEAST is the PORT QUARTER.
To the NORTH is the PALACE.
To the SOUTHEAST is the EMBASSY.

Of course, you see no one on the streets of the noble quarter, aside from the people that you assume are in the fancy carriages being pulled about.

The homes here are about as extravagant as you'd expect. Pinnacles of Gurkhani architecture, really. And everything is absolutely pristine!

To the EAST are the BARRACKS.
To the WEST is MARKET STREET.
To the SOUTHEAST is a manor that appears to be boarded up.

This manor looks every bit as grand as all the others...despite the fact that it...apparently used to be boarded, though those have been ripped off now. And the fact that for some reason, there are vines forcing a couple of guards to perform an interpretive dance in the courtyard.

You get the distinct feeling that no one has lived here in years.

You're starting to feel a bit nauseous.

You enter the barracks.

Immediately you end up in the training room, where soldiers train against dummies and fire arrows at mechanically moving targets. On the far wall is are weapon and armour racks, with all sorts of equipment.

To the SOUTH is the PRISON.
To the WEST is the NOBLE QUARTER.

[ hmm. taking a shield, and maybe a knife if there is one, before heading south ]

You gain a shield and dagger.

The prison looks...a lot fuller than it should be, really. There's talks of a brewing revolution in the Old City -- one brought about by the agents of the false god Kadroo, of course. The guards seem to have their hands full keeping everything in order.

To the NORTH are the BARRACKS.

This place is a disgusting swirl of colour. Twelve colours to be exact, all of which resolve themselves solidly on the twelve doors circling the round main chamber of the embassy, each colour representing one of the countries that have made contact with the Gurkhani Empire. (Or, you know, the teams of Kyriakos.)
