[All the teams are ushered to their own tables, secluded somewhere in the depths of the garden. There's a pot of tea (because of course there is), a bowl of fresh-picked fruit, and a messy stack of blank papers and pencils. In the very center of the table is another piece of paper, this one with a very simple set of instructions written across the top.]
• As a team, create a list of story elements. This list must include:
-A setting -A hero -A villain -An object -A one-sentence quote
• General elements are usually better than overly-specific ones. No gaming the system! (Yeah, I'm looking at you, smartass.)
• That's it.
• So get goin' already!!
[OOC: You have 1 hour (7 PST/10 EST) to submit your list.]
[The paper with your list suddenly rolls up and disappears in a tiny puff of smoke. After a moment, another paper appears and drops on the table in its place, unrolling itself helpfully to reveal a new set of instructions.]
• Write a short story using the following elements:
-The place: A grand, fabulous palace in a wealthy kingdom ♥ -The hero: A god -The villain: Their creator -An important item: Sword -The line: "How dare you steal my rice bowl?!"
• Stories will be judged by the other teams on the basis of both creativity and quality.
• So if you can't be good, ya' can at least try to be weird!!
[OOC: You have until 10 PST/1 EST to submit your stories! Have fun!]
It could bring into existence anything it desired and was without equal in terms of raw power. It was more than a god.....but also less than a mortal, for the Creator was a deeply flawed being despite being omnipotent. It was greedy for material wealth! Specifically, for wealth that was freely given to It by weaker creatures. To simply create money brought no satisfaction. The Creator wanted others to sacrifice their own assets.
To this end, the Creator created a God for ordinary people to worship and pay tribute to....tribute that the Creator would, of course, collect for Itself. It also created a sword to serve as a symbol of the God, naming it Rice Bowl, wherein the abundance of rice referenced in the name represented the abundance of wealth that the God was to be honored with.
However, the God was a thinking being just like his Creator, and rejected such a purpose. He stole Rice Bowl and unmade the sword in a burst of pure destructive energy to spite the Creator.
"How dare you steal my Rice Bowl?!" the Creator howled.
"I do what I want, asshole," replied the God, and forged a new life for himself.

I guess we... craft a tale? And compete with others? At least that's what this seems to appear to be.
I think we've got a good shot.
