I'm not sure how we should answer these questions. They seem straightforward enough but given who we're dealing with, I can't be too sure.

With any luck, it's hopefully a mostly harmless question.

Of course they can, but I assume what they're asking is 'would it be better not to have them.'

I think it's more likely our choice will have unfortunate repercussions either way.

I'm inclined to think of it more as a strength these days over a weakness.

And that answer would lead to something like those bonds being forcefully severed. Of course.

That leaves the question of whether the other answer will result in anything better.
