... but in what would appear to be a thick, lush forest. Around you as far as you can see are massive trees with canopies that blot out the sky. The hum of bugs fills the air. It's hot, or at least considerably warmer than it was on top of the mountain, but not oppressively humid, at least.
Looking to your left, you can see the forest begins to clear out.
Looking to your right, you can see that the forest appears as dark and thick as where you are now. It is also possible that you can choose a member of your party to climb a tree to check to see which way you should go. Or maybe you could check out your perimeter on foot?

You chose a nice, solid, sturdy tree to climb, and managed to climb all the way to the top. Congratulations! From here, you can see that to the left there is a coast line and a large body of water in the distance; to the right is a tall mountain that becomes submerged in low-lying clouds.

The path is dark as you go along, with only the rare shaft of light making it through the dense canopy overway, and it's possible that you may find it difficult to keep your footing: thick tree roots and rocks impede the way, making it difficult to proceed.
Deep into your travels, there is a soft rustling sound in the thick bushes to your left, followed by a snapping sound.
