the invitation reads:

"Dear X,

You've been cordially invited to Lady Rhode de Loveless's grand evening ball! She also wishes to extend her deepest apologies for her earlier actions towards you."

too bad you aren't getting inside just yet, two guards still block the doors. )

( it leads you to . . . the kitchen! where there are more missing knives. along with a recipe book, a quill and toppled over inkwell. the ink drips from the counter onto the floor into a black smudge.

the kitchen staff is alarmingly absent. )
