What gave you the idea to just talk to the plants, though?

It seemed obliging to the idea of having me on its back, and seemed to move accordingly to help.

Then, from up there, I observed them getting angry at you... and remembered that this forest has spirits.

It is possible that it has a will. Indeed, it seems likely.

Thus, I determined it was worth a try, and if it failed we had lost nothing but time.

Oh well. Can't say it harms us any if we're careful. I'm just not sure messing around with spirits is always a smart idea.
