[ That. That is impressive. Fortunately Aoko's been around here long enough that she doesn't feel the need to gawk, and with a quick shake of her head, she starts looking around once more. ]
The path going this way curves here and there, narrowing and widening at strange places. It makes walking as a group difficult.
You finally hit another path - no, this isn't a path. Underfoot you hear the crunch of cornstalks, pressed flat to the ground. The normal path ends here, leaving you to choose another right or left. Or forward, if you feel brave enough to go through the cornstalks]
It crunches underneath your feet as you step on it, not exactly the quietest of routes. But it does take you away from the sound of the motor, so it seems you may have chosen the right direction to go, for now.
You come to another split, though - and this time, you can go straight, right, or left]
In the distance, you can see the exit to the maze, but it's too dark to really make out the path that'll take you there. To your right, just behind you, you can see what was making the motor noise - a tractor, which has since come to the stop in the middle of a freshly pressed area of corn.
You can also make out some shapes - circles, double lines.
The maze isn't a maze over on this end, it appears. You're right in the middle of some crop circles]
I think I can see the exit, but … it's too dark; I don't know which way to go to get there. Behind and to the right is a tractor—that's what was making the noise. A, and … [ GULPS ]

Faintly, faintly, though - further into the cornstalks yet to be pressed down - you hear the sound of a motor]

[ It's quieter, but the crunch of their footsteps sure isn't ]
Hey, maybe—do you think we'd be able to peek over the top of the corn?

My vote is for trying to find the exit as quickly as possible. What do you think?
