[When you come to, you find yourself locked in a small, cramped, antique elevator. One wall is covered with a large, ornate mirror, and a chandelier hangs above your head. The doors are made of metal and shut very, very tightly. The lights are off.]

[You hear two familiar voices echo distantly in your mind]

LET ME GO, Ǧ̲̖̩̞̣̲̌Ĩ͎R̞̩͎̝̍L̹̳̫̾͛Ȉ͙͈̬͐͒ͭ̄̌̊E̥̥̓ͨ!

I won't let you hurt them!

[Before you have time to say anything, the elevator suddenly jolts, before it begins to plummet. Your heart drops to the pit of your stomach as you fall, fall, fall, and then. . .]

[Suddenly it stops. You're thrown off balance, possibly to the point of where you crash into a wall or a nearby neighbor. All is silent]

[A tiny yellow-and-blue ball comes flying down from somewhere near the ceiling of Henwen's elevator, falling on the ground with a muffled swear. She sits up, eyes wide, and then finally breathes again, muttering to herself.]

Ok, so perhaps I didn't mess up that bad.

[whoa, hey. . .!]

Yo!

We were trying to get you guys out. . .!

Thank you for that.

[Lapis stands up and straightens her hat.]

As a note, there was a lever near the ceiling where we were. If someone is able to hold me up, I might be able to see if I can find one here as well.

A lever?

[he tilts his head up, examining the ceiling]

A lever where, exactly? I bet I can hold you up pretty easily.

It was near the ceiling. However, there might not be something similar here, as it is a floor and not an elevator. It might be worth a look, however. Perhaps over by some panel of buttons?

I dunno. . .

[he frowns]

I think our time might be better served making sure everyone's out, and helping the teams who aren't. And once we've done that, we should probably head forward.

That is a good point. I was thinking that there might be a way to open all of the doors at once, however.

[But brute force works too. She guesses.]

I will take a look to see what's beyond this specific hall.

[he laughs a bit wryly]

We had to break a mirror to get out of our elevator. I think forcing our way out is the only answer we've got here.

[This game was made for him.

Brute force tactics all the way]

Not necessarily, but I do see your point.

[She still takes a quick walk around the hall, as far as the light goes, to see what she can find, if anything useful.]

I think I might have arrived with a skill to solve puzzles.

I'm sure it'll come in handy in a game like this.

How did you fall?

I was putting my weight on a lever to open something. It... wasn't moving so I ended up hanging from it.

[Hey, she was the easiest to get up to it, ok?]

Huh. Damn strong lever. It still like that?

[Steps into the elevator, glancing up]

Possibly. Everything somewhat happened at once.

[Including the creepy mirror version of herself.]

If you can't reach it, you can likely hold me up again.

[NOBODY DIED.]

So, we have gotten out of there without any injuries.

That should count for something, at least.
