[When you come to, you find yourself locked in a small, cramped, antique elevator. One wall is covered with a large, ornate mirror, and a chandelier hangs above your head. The doors are made of metal and shut very, very tightly. The lights are off.]

[You hear two familiar voices echo distantly in your mind]

LET ME GO, Ǧ̲̖̩̞̣̲̌Ĩ͎R̞̩͎̝̍L̹̳̫̾͛Ȉ͙͈̬͐͒ͭ̄̌̊E̥̥̓ͨ!

I won't let you hurt them!

[Before you have time to say anything, the elevator suddenly jolts, before it begins to plummet. Your heart drops to the pit of your stomach as you fall, fall, fall, and then. . .]

[Suddenly it stops. You're thrown off balance, possibly to the point of where you crash into a wall or a nearby neighbor. All is silent]

[There are three scraps, there are words written on it, faded with time but still legible:

♥ And so, she slaved over her cauldron day in and day out, perfecting the magic of creating friends.

♥ And so, the witch used that spell to summon the most monstrous, twisted, and distorted "friend" she would ever have. . .

♥ No matter how hard she searched, however, no such spell could be found.]

[you feel. . . you feel. . .]

[you feel like you should keep this]

[Ok, so perhaps the fire idea was not a good idea. She picks up the scraps, and stands up again, a confused look on her face.

This story, something is important about this story.]

Everyone... I found something.

[She holds up the papers, allowing people to look at them, but keeping them.]

[lifts his head up, curious]

Eh? What'd you find?

Shards of a story.

Something about creating monstrous friendships.

A story, huh. . . three scraps of paper? That's one for each team.

[well, each team present]

Keep 'em. They might be important later.

Yes, I am fully intending to do so.

[She might have been extremely un-useful the entire game, but she found... something.]

That is interesting. I wonder if other teams will find other scraps in other places.

Perhaps my insistence that brute force isn't the answer is... wrong in this instance.

[She makes a face.]

...It feels like there's a big gap between the second and third one.

It is also possible that they are not in the correct order. I... feel like there should be more shards than these. It's only part of a story.

It doesn't seem like there's much else to look through though... Except maybe the skeleton itself?

[Let me look through its clothes, yes.]

I believe they are. I also don't think we have the entire story here. I wonder if there are more around this room.

Well.. it wouldn't hurt to look a little.

I sent Ochre to look, and he didn't find anything, unfortunately.

Maybe we should investigate the paintings.
