BARGHEST/GULGALLANA

( roots twist around your legs to yank through the swamp water into. . . oh yes, another swamp. wonderful!! everyone loves the swamp! at least there is civilisation here. you've found yourself in a quaint little village with a fancy new set of duds and. . .?
ah, yes. this stranger that you immediately recognise as your squad captain. )

ROUND ONE
Listen up, pups. The first stage of your mission is to explore the village yonder. But just because we've been assigned to protect them doesn't mean all those natives are going to be friendly. This is a war zone. Arm yourselves accordingly—as a unit.
[ And just in case it isn't immediately clear what she means by that, it would seem that there's exactly the same number of weapons as there are people in your squad. ]
Re: ROUND ONE
what sort of weapons we got here, anyway, because this lady's an unconventional fighter ]

Re: ROUND ONE: DECISION
ROUND TWO
We have received intelligence from one of our scouts that the red and blue armies have made camp near the village. Word has gotten to the villagers, and the people are frightened: rumors abound that an attack is imminent. I ask that you all agree, as a unit, upon what you believe is the best course of action to use against these forces: will you attack or defend?
Should you choose to defend, you may either station four guards around the village or place a magical barrier there using a talisman. If you wish to attack, you may cast blind, petrify, thunder, or blizzard on our enemy. The effects are self-explanatory. Be forewarned—once you have committed an action once, you may not repeat it again later, as our enemies will be aware of our tactics and talismans may be used only once.

However, another option could be attack early with petrification, and attempt to non-lethally thin out the ranks of our enemies. Of course, we could also use the petrification later, but the sooner we dispose of enemies the better.

ROUND THREE / ROUND TWO RESULTS
Each of your posted guards have been stabbed somewhere in the ensuing skirmish with a sword. the strike against Montage has proven fatal, the sword running right through them. Once again, you must decide how to defend the village. ]

I would kill the bandits in terrible ways and kill the other camps too, and we can call this a game and be done with it. But I imagine that is not very wise, so I suppose I am amenable to other ideas!
