[When the game starts you find yourselves on a platform. At least this part is pretty relaxing as it's large enough to fit a table with six (or seven) chairs around and that may be the place you want to sit at for now. There's several pieces of parchment laying on the table and a box in the center.

Of course, if you were careful you might want to pay attention to what's before you. Because immediately after the platform is a slide that ends in a pit of water? That turns into a dark forest. In what looks like a mile across is another large platform, presumably the end. Though that's all you can see right now.]

I am familiar with some faces and some names, but beyond that I know very little. And two of those have only just arrived, so I hazard we cannot make any assumptions regarding their teams.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge.

A rope and a tent both have practical uses, as well, though rope has more varied utility.
