How far are you going to go, anyway? You call yourself a cat, but what's that even worth, when you've got Nyssa as a patron? How many people are you willing to hurt for the sake of your job?
I don't know. It'd sound nice and strong if I say "nobody. I won't hurt anybody ever again", but the truth is, I don't know that. I'll try as hard as I have to not to hurt anybody, but...if I have to make an impossible choice, I'll deal with the consequences of it. And I'll do everything I can to fix it afterwards. And if I can't, I'll deal with that too. I don't have the luxury of doing anything else.
Because I love being a Cat. It's who I am. Dealing with things like Nyssa and the hard choices isn't just a burden, it's y job. And I have to do it. Because I owe my patrons and my teammates that much. Because I love them too.
[He starts walking towards the Shadow as it flickers.]
And if one of them is hurt, I'll help them. If I'm hurt, they'll help me. If they're taken, I'll get them back and if I'm taken, they'll get me back. If something happens to Queen Estelle or Princess Madeline, I'll move heaven and earth to get them back. Because the bond we have is stronger than Nyssa and it's a damn sight stronger than... [He gestures.] ...whatever this is.
[He's right in front of the Shadow now.]
So yeah. I'm an insecure, angry, wreck. And I need to be better. But I'm not gonna let it stop me from doing my job. And right now, my job is to help Ochre.
