[Touching the window gives you an immediate sense of hope rising in your chest. Out there is an entire world that you have yet to see - you’re going to get there someday. You won’t be stuck here forever.]
[Touching the bookshelf gives you a specific feeling: you have to always be working hard. You can’t let yourself relax for a moment, because you’ll become complacent, and if you’re complacent, you’ll never escape. All you want is to get out of this place and go where people will understand and value you.]
[As you walk out the door to the rest of the house, everything is dreary and cold. It’s dark, windowless, without any lights to be found. The place you enter into looks to be a hallway in the dim light, but the more you walk, you realize the hallway is endless. There’s no decoration here, only dust laying over every surface and a feeling of hopelessness and monotony. There’s a door on the opposite end of the corridor, but you know it’s never going to grow closer. It never changes. It’s always the same. You will never be able to leave this place.
[Touching the lamp gives you a sense of solace. You’re strong enough to last through your circumstances, even if you doubt it sometimes. If you take it day by day, someday you’ll be somewhere better.]

Everything looks fine from a distance but look close enough and it all falls apart?
Makes sense, I guess.

Yet.

...Well.
He can't seem to do anything else, and he doesn't want to break that window if he can avoid it, so all he can do is try and leave the room.]

The more you walk, the more weary you become.]

He has to just.. go forward, right?]
