[When the game starts you find yourselves on a platform. At least this part is pretty relaxing as it's large enough to fit a table with six (or seven) chairs around and that may be the place you want to sit at for now. There's several pieces of parchment laying on the table and a box in the center.

Of course, if you were careful you might want to pay attention to what's before you. Because immediately after the platform is a slide that ends in a pit of water? That turns into a dark forest. In what looks like a mile across is another large platform, presumably the end. Though that's all you can see right now.]

We're choosing the sword, right?

The rope, the tent, and the hook are the best choices.

It's only a mile. What will we need a tent for?

Considering a parachute is in the list of options, I'm assuming we're going to need fabric at some point, and a tent is going to have a lot of it for whatever we could need it for.

But what good's a lot of fabric if we don't have something to cut it with?

The hook should have a point. If you drag the point across, it should make a cut.

My goal in those three items was the most versatile tools.

Do you think it will be useful in an obstacle course?

It can cut things.

If it couldn't, it wouldn't be much of a sword.

But my point is that obstacle courses rarely require one to simply hack their way through.

That doesn't mean a cutting implement won't be useful in some way.

I guess we could use the hook to cut instead.

It should be possible, if sharp enough and you use enough force.

Then I'll pass up the sword this once.

Can we not? There are far more practical things.

A sword can cut more or less anything. That's practical.

Depends on the sword. Some are just sharp, heavy things better used to beat things with.

Then we should ask what kind of sword it is. This Echo seems like a helpful kid. Maybe he'll respond.
