AMALTHEA
[The team room resembles a huge autoshop with comfortable seating areas. The very basic body of a car is there, as well as machinery that operates on it on command and a large touchscreen hooked up to a machine that will instantly produce any decorative accessories the team designs. use this for inspiration if you must.

[Looking over everything V CAREFULLY, trying to figure out a good mix of functional plus representational. Because he was really just about to slam the WINGS button, but after considering a few things...]
We should give it hovering for our red item choice. And then pick a turbo boost for at least one of the oranges. That way, utilizing a hover and a speed boost at the same time will be just as good as flying when it comes to getting over rough terrain because the distance will be a lot larger by combining those two. And in the case of sand or submerging in water which might slow us down, boosting will not only get us forward faster, but the hovering will help out with getting back to the surface of the water, so mixing those two up puts us at a better advantage in multiple scenarios.
[Taps a finger to his chin.] So maybe getting the extra turbo boost for our second orange choice would be a good idea ... but we can figure that part out while we choose other things.

We should have horns on the front. Reinforce it to make a battering ram.

Well, just like our team! You lucked out on placement, I guess.
Some sort of horns on the front is a good idea, in case we need to charge through something. [Making a quick, swoopy hand motion.] Something strong, but light, so the vehicle isn't too front heavy.
As for the overall design, something on the thinner side will work better for our speed boosts so we can cut through air and water with no problem! That's also why hovering and boosting will work better than having actual wings, because the wings will make the design wider, and we might hit them on something and lose our speed...
Though in that case ... maybe we can go for rubber bumpers for one of our green choices? It'll add us a little more protection from collisions, and if we're relying on speed, if we come across any tight turns we can't make, at least we'll have those to bounce us off the wall with minimal damage to the frame and only a slight decrease of speed.
--oh, oh, we can give the bumpers a wing-shaped pattern!

[Thinking...]
Those are good ideas. Speed and maneuverability are crucial in a race, as is being able to safely absorb a certain level of damage.
But, edging out an advantage over one's opponents is also important. The battering ram could be spring-loaded, maybe designed to resemble a decorative aspect of the vehicle. Such as horns. As our special attack, it would be used to knock other vehicles off-balance and take them by surprise.
[He really wants this, okay.]

[The nerd in his natural nerd habitat.]
That's a great idea! They won't know what hit'em, eheheheh~ And it fits quite well with the focus on speed, too, so we can make sure to get up close behind somebody in a pinch!
In that case, then, if we'll need to slow down any opponents in front of us otherwise, we can grab that sticky web launcher.

Yes, I was going to suggest that as well. I also like the idea of the oil slick. If our vehicle can hover, we should be able to avoid it once deployed.

Hm....what should our second green item be?

Agreed.
.....hm. Only the Super Sonic Airhorn seems like a good investment.

Maybe the Aging Ray, too! If they're tiny, they might not be able to reach the pedal right-- or be able to do that and see over the wheel, so they'll have to slow down to make sure they know where they're going.
