[The room you are in smells like burnt wood and sulfur. The room itself seems uncomfortably hot, but not unbearably so.]

[It's a relatively plain room, with beige wallpaper and a white tile floor. The lights above you are tinted red, and they flicker on and off in regular intervals. There's an old timey wood burning oven affixed to the wall in front of you. Inside the hearth a fire burns, the flames licking and dancing around wooden logs. In a circle, positioned on the other three walls of the room, are seven different doors. Each door has a nameplate on it with the following words written in fancy lettering:]

LUST
GLUTTONY
GREED
PRIDE
WRATH
SLOTH
ENVY

[You enter another room, much smaller than the one you were in before. In here, the lighting is normal, if dim. On the opposite side of the room is a small, white marble altar with some items on it: a pile of long needles about the size of a hand, and then a glass filled with gold liquid.]

[Above the altar hangs a painting: a man dressed in black robes looks on as a series of builders (who all look frightened and uncertain, their eyes hallowed and their cheekbones sharp) build a large statue in the same of the black robed man]

[The frame of the portrait is engraved with one word: Superbia]

All other sins stem from Pride.

You must choose:
♦ Ten needles to be put into your body of your choice.
♦ Petrification. You’ll slowly be turning into gold over time.
