GULGALLANA

[ You find yourself in a section of the maze walled off by hedges sporting glowing orange flowers. Several tree stumps with rich velvet cushions on them surround a much larger stump, upon which lie a number of cards... ]

And how do you intend to convince him to change his ways?

We can start by not excusing him!

That requires us to have some sort of power over him, which we don't have. If you can find a way to convince him that this approach isn't helping in any way, that's a good idea. As it is, your attempts to antagonize him just amuses him even more, which is reinforcing the idea that he can get away with this stuff.

I'd rather tell him what I think of him than say, "Oh, but he probably has a reason for doing this!"

I don't care what his reasons are. He's hurting people. And one day, I'll find a way to stop him.

More my issue is, you're moving without a plan or even an idea of how he thinks. Rather than finding a way to stop him, you're more likely to just end up playing into his hands like that.

All I'm doing is yelling at him!

[clenches her fists by her sides]

So please don't make assumptions. And please don't ever say "he has his reasons" to me again. It makes it sound like you think it's fine for us to be hurt.

Honestly? I do think it's fine for us to be hurt. Do you realize how much power it must take to revive our worlds? To bring back the lives of millions of people? Compared to what effect it may have on a grander scale, a little bit of suffering is practically nothing.
clocksandroses: (A turtle disaster.)

[Just. Shakes her head.]

There are other ways. Better ways. Ways that he doesn't think are fun.
