[ You find yourself in a section of the maze walled off by hedges sporting glowing blue flowers. Several tree stumps with rich velvet cushions on them surround a much larger stump, upon which lie a number of cards... ]
[ There are now sixteen cards upon the table--the same as before, minus the last one you chose. You get the feeling you'll need to proceed just as you did in the last round. ]
[ The moment you pick up this card, a heavy weight settles upon your shoulders. It's not a physical weight, though. Instead, it's the crushing guilt of all your past misdeeds, come to drag you down into misery and regret. No matter how you try, you cannot escape the sudden feeling of terrible, terrible guilt, nor can you stop reflecting upon all your wrongdoings in great detail--even if there aren't actually very many you can remember. ]
[...oh. well. lacking most of the awful memories this could stir, this guilt is very mysterious (but still feels very real). certainly part of it is that his team keeps dying and/or getting maimed and obviously it's his fault, right? why did Schooler have to go through what appeared to be excruciating pain when he only has to feel like a huge asshole for awhile? his fault. clearly.
that said, how would you even tell that he feels this way? he always looks kind of sullen and irritated. it may seem like nothing is happening at all.]
[he'll spare Flame a glance and wonder why this poor little child had to end up in this stupid shitty world and die all the time god damn it everything is his fault, forgive him Flameling]
[ After thirty minutes, the card dissolves into ash, and what fun! With some more hideous clunking noises, your bodies start to mend themselves about halfway, and the shape on the table empties out of about half its little cups, down to being a tenth full! ...for all of two or three seconds, until the shape fills back up to twenty percent once again. For the whole tema present, one of your hands, and one of your feet as well, begin the transformation into cups, your fingers and toes curving and then fusing to form the chalice. ]
