[ You find yourself sequestered in a cave deep within Waldemar's mountain. A table and a set of chairs have been carved from the surrounding rock. Torches are set into the walls to provide light, while a faint breeze blows through cracks in the walls and ceiling to provide ventilation. There are no doors or windows to speak of.

In the center of the room are your (randomly assigned) gifts: A SWORD WITH A BEJEWELED SHEATH and A CRATE OF VERY GOOD MEAD.

There’s an hourglass of wrought silver embedded in the wall, with ten rubies inside. Pinned beside it is an elegant tapestry featuring an opulent throne room. You are part of THE NOBLES.

Resting on the table are the following: a sheet of parchment, a quill, and a capped jar of ink. Written on the parchment is a list and three words in bold lettering:

TARGET
DEFEND

That depends! People who feel comfortable with their scores would defend, while those who might have close to nothing have nothing else to lose...

But with this anonymity, we can't tell what anybody else's score is.

Aaah, I wish we got hints as to who has what! Or anything, really... It's like taking shots in the dark.

Assuming others have at least one more item than we do, we don't have too big a chance to win...

But, I'm okay with taking a chance! After all, you can't get anything done if you just play it safe all the time.
