[ You find yourself sequestered in a cave deep within Waldemar's mountain. A table and a set of chairs have been carved from the surrounding rock. Torches are set into the walls to provide light, while a faint breeze blows through cracks in the walls and ceiling to provide ventilation. There are no doors or windows to speak of.

In the center of the room are your (randomly assigned) gifts: A FINE CLOAK WITH A FUR TRIM and A CRATE OF VERY GOOD MEAD.

There’s an hourglass of wrought silver embedded in the wall, with ten rubies inside. Pinned beside it is an elegant tapestry featuring a rustic village in the countryside. You are part of THE PEASANTS.

Resting on the table are the following: a sheet of parchment, a quill, and a capped jar of ink. Written on the parchment is a list and three words in bold lettering:

The Nobles seem too obvious, especially for the first turn.

I'll see if I need to defend next turn. If I can steal something successfully, then it will recoup some points if anyone robs me.

Waldemar! I've got a question: Can I eat the food, and if I can, would eating it mean it can't be stolen? Or would it take away my points?

Again, huh... Damn. I was going to use this turn to defend, but I'd rather try protecting instead. I can target again next turn, and then defend for my last if I have to.

The Nobles sound rich. Maybe they'll get targeted for that? Then again, so do the Merchants.

The Nobles sound like my best bet for now.

Not like I can do much but hope for a lucky guess when I don't know what the other teams are up to.

I'm having a lot of fun! It's good to have friendly competitions that don't hurt anyone.

This one does not wish to cause more harm than good, although sometimes a hard lesson cannot be avoided.

Conflict between groups over resources, over ideas and ideals, is inevitable.

That's... really sad. Were the resources running out, or did people want to hoard it for themselves?
