DAWON & TIAMAT

[when you insert the key and open the door, you'll find inside the room looks like the living room of a mansion - the space bends on the walls, but there is a single door that leads to another room; though the door is closed, you can see through it—as if it's somewhat transparent. the room is painted baby blue and a gold-plated cradle sits in the room.

inside, a baby cries - high pitched and noisy, though immediately a nurse comes in to rock the child back to sleep.]

-

[slowly, the scene changes, fading in and out with various silent scenes—the baby sits up, trying to climb out of her cradle; a little toddler dressed prettily with expensive clothes beams pleasantly; a tantrum, thrown by the little girl who's distressed; the little girl holding a puppy, pleased as punch; then the wall becomes opaque.]

[in the middle of the open doorway, a young girl the age of 10 sits on a chair, smiling at you. a golden retriever is curled up beside her.]

[this is your little girl. you couldn't help spoiling her, honestly - after all, she's a noble too, and she should like to become a princess as well. she deserves it. but you also know, with how your history's gone, she's going to have to work to get to the top. but you have faith in her - she's your girl, after all.]

She could be the trigger that changes attitudes about this sort of thing. Get people talking, encourage discussion... change minds.

Yes. And surely there is a princess out there who feels the way she does. We can reassure her that any naysayers will deal with us four.

We should be realistic and warn her that people may look down on her, but also tell her that the opinion of these few people does not matter, and she should be true to herself regardless. Encourage her to be self confident despite their intolerance.

Re: DISCUSSION

So we'll sit her down, let her know that we fully support her choices and encourage her to keep climbing to become a Princess so that she can influence people to change their way of thinking?

Re: DISCUSSION

But she says she has doubts about being a princess, does she not? We should let her know we will support her in whatever she truly wants to do.

Of course, but there are perks to being a princess that would help with ignorance like this. Setting an example, for one. I'm not saying we force her to continue down that path if she doesn't want to, but make her aware of the advantages such a position has.

Alright. We should make sure she knows some people will be unkind, too, but that these kind of people don't matter, and she should continue to be self confident and happy despite these kind of people.

What about her best friend? I think we should encourage her to be open about her feelings.

Of course. But tell her that if her friend responds unkindly, she was not a good friend in the first place. If she tells her she's simply not interested in her that way, then we let her know that we'll be here to comfort her.

I hope it goes well for her.

Isn't she a little young to start confessing any sort of feelings to someone else?

As I said before, young love tends to be fickle. She was claiming to love that guy before... If it's meant to be, the relationship will stand against time.

And we shouldn't be teaching her to ignore her feelings, either.

I'm not saying we should. But waiting to see how the friend feels about her before pouring our some really strong feelings can't hurt. She's still a kid.

Being honest about her feelings doesn't necessarily mean dramatically pouring them out, does it? Besides, maybe the girl has the same feelings for her and has similar fears about telling her. How would either of them know in that case?
showyouthesight: (as long as I know who I am)

Re: DISCUSSION

It might for a ten-year-old.

She could always ask what her friend thinks about those things and then tell her what she thinks of them.

Sakura and I decided on six diligence, five charm, four intelligence and three free time for this round. Are you okay with that or do you want to change things around?

What about free time? Are we going to combine archery with her horseback riding this time?

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2014-05-19 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
We could certainly try it. Perhaps with more supervision, so she does not harm herself accidentally. What else should we do with her?

Continue with the swordplay, start putting armour on her so she can get used to the weight of it.

Alright. So that leaves one space more for free time. Let's see. Archery, swordplay... You mentioned hunting earlier, didn't you?
