[Maya's Heart]
[Everything goes white, almost blindingly, as you enter Eveningstar's heart.... it's so overwhelming that you forget, for a moment, what you're doing, why you're here, and details about yourself start to slip---]
[but then it all stops, abruptly, and your senses return to you]

Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
...Well. Let's proceed.
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[ standing - a little nervously, at the ready ]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[a familiar voice (that you can't quite place) booms across the room from the prosecutor's bench. Whoever it is in dressed in a ridiculous amount of frills, but you can't see their face]
The defendant, Miss Eveningstar of Epona, has been accused of a great many things. The gravest charge being murder.
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
I see the defense is already running his mouth... Very well. Do you have any evidence to prove your claim?
[Well, Do you?]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
. . . how can I prove someone hasn't murdered if there isn't any evidence to prove that they have murdered? Prove your claim first!
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Unless you're giving up....?
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[The Judge pipes up:]
Enough distractions, Mr. Flame. If you continue wasting this court's time, I'm afraid I'll have to assign you a penalty.
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
. . . ah. Uhm.
[ ;;;;;;;;;;;;; ]
I-I apologize. . .
[ but what do i do uh. fuck. present > burger meal?? ]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
If there's one thing that's true about Eveningstar, it's that she loves food. In fact, that was one of the first places I stumbled upon in this place - her heart. And you can see in the front, she has nothing but food, games, and samurai television in mind. She loves food and fun too much! Murder is neither of these! Therefore she is not someone who would willingly murder someone else!
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[The Judge, on the other hand, seems intrigued by this argument] It's possible she finds murder fun. Do you have any other evidence?
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
. . . . Besides, murder isn't fun.
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[But the Prosecutor laughs at you!]
Mr. Flame, just because the rooms are locked doesn't mean they're not available. If anything, they are the proof, all of her dark secrets being kept behind locked doors! For wasting the court's time, I'm afraid I'll have to assign you a penalty.
[A small sliver of your lifebar flashes, in danger-- but wait a minute, isn't it the Judge's job to assign penalties?]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[The Judge is still staring at the food, hungry. Oops!]
[BAM! You feel like someone kneed you in the gut, and take a 5% penalty]
As I was saying....
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[ im. okay. ]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[The Prosecutor wags their finger....] I have here a very decisive piece of evidence that proves Eveningstar's guilt.
[Present -> Evidence -> Crime Scene Photo]
TAKE THAT!
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
This puts her at the crime scene for the death of Older Sister, directly near the body.
And what is your objection, Mr. Flame?
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
This photo does not show Eveningstar in the act of murdering her older sister. It merely shows her grieving over her older sister's death - which any family member would do upon seeing their relative murdered! It doesn't pin her as the murderer at all; rather, it even shows that she's upset over murder! It's not fun for her, as you can see, and it most certainly isn't her fault!
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
[Well, anyway, the Prosecutor isn't phased]
Hmph, so you're not completely incompetent after all! But let's review the facts of this murder, shall we?
[The Prosecutor is talking like they expect you to know exactly what she's talking about]
Re: COURTROOM (ROOM 3)
. . . okay? Please. Review it. . . ?
1/2
You mean you aren't prepared at all, Mr. Flame? Very well, since the defense is so incompetent, I suppose I'll throw you a bone.
[The Judge does not seem to be impressed]
Perhaps next time you should look over your case file before running off your mouth, Mr. Flame.
