The moment you step through the mirror door, you seem to - slip, as if the floor were made of wax, but when you fall there is no floor to catch you; only darkness.

You fall for some time. Eventually, it feels as if you're not falling at all - but rather, floating . . . and some time after that, it almost feels as if you have no body at all. The light from which the entrance of Canis's heart is disappears quickly, and you're left with nothing - not even your own screams, if you have any; nothing seems to leave your throat, and there's no sound at all, besides. Even the rushing of wind is gone, and your own pulse seems to fade away. . .

. . . what penetrates your consciousness next is the soft sound of music. Someway or another, you find yourself on a white platform; you're dressed in plain clothes of your team color, all items gone from your person. In front of you, four stones float; all perfectly square and identical to each other. Each have images - a sword, a staff, a bow and arrow, and a sparkling circle . . . you understand what you must do.

They don't seem to be listening - rather, they're completely enamored with what they're doing right now.

And jeez, you should be quiet; service has started and this is a church.

[ as if he knows how to be quiet.

reaching out a hand to place it on their shoulder. ]

The person slaps his hand away, rising to his feet . . . through the stained glass's light, you can see it's Canis. He looks a bit irritated, and he's not dressed in Barghest's uniform either - rather, he's dressed in the left outfit.

"Be quiet. This isn't a place for you to be loud."

[wingtamed]

--sorry?

[ he's a little sorry, okay. ]

What're you doing?

[knighttolast]

"I'm here to worship. . . . of course?"

[wingtamed]

Yeah, well, I came here to save you, so.

[ hholds out his hand towards canis. ]

[knighttolast]

"Saving? But I've already been saved."

[wingtamed]

You don't look very saved ta me.

[knighttolast]

"Of course I have. It's why I'm here now. It's why this place is here now."

[wingtamed]

Canis. There's somethin' weird inside you. An' we gotta get it out.

[knighttolast]

". . . Something weird?"

He frowns, standing up straight.

"What are you talking about?"

[wingtamed]

. . I 'unno what it's supposed to look like, exactly. But it's in here somewhere.

[knighttolast]

"There isn't anything here. This place is sacred."

[wingtamed]

Then where is it?

[knighttolast]

"I don't know.

. . . I can hear strange things outside. It's not safe out there. . . so I just stay here. This is my place."

[wingtamed]

. . I'm not gonna hurt you. [ raises his hand, palm up. ]

So let's go look outside together.

[knighttolast]

He doesn't take it yet - but he doesn't look particularly against taking it, either. At least, he's not hostile like the usual Canis.

"I can't leave. I must stay here; this is my place."

[wingtamed]

No it ain't. Your place is with Barghest.

[knighttolast]

"You don't understand."

[wingtamed]

Then explain it to me.

[knighttolast]

He gestures to the stained glass - the painted image forms to make a sun, eclipsed by this person's frame, and the light shines on Canis, green eyes shining brightly.

"I was made to serve him."

[wingtamed]

You know none of that stuff matters now, right? You're part of Barghest now--who you were before doesn't matter.

[knighttolast]

"It matters. I can't change who I am. . . and I am Haruki-sama's Knight."
