AMALTHEA
[ Everything fades to black...and you awaken in a run-down one-room shack, with the distinct feeling that the people around you are your family, if you didn't already have such a bond with them.
You're wearing raggedy versions of your uniform, and a newspaper informs you that you are currently in Cathay, on the fifteenth anniversary of the day the company Lupus' Secret Stash led a coup and established their own government. In fact, you can now remember why you came here - to escape the misfortunes of your own country - because this is truly the land of opportunity and freedom. ]

And we can always sell it later.

You're talkin' about "utility," but you've seen how this game works. The game isn't gonna give us a chance to put the car's utility to use. It's a waste. A useless item.
Even if we sold it, likely we could only sell it for about half of what we're payin' for it now.

Well, if we cut the car, how about..
1300 for housing, 1200 for food, 700 for medicine and 600 for clothes?

[he nods]
That's better. And we can save the rest, plus what we earned from sellin' the alcohol.

Last time it.
Attracted thieves.
[He sort. Looks at his leg. Whoops.]

Good point.

If we're stocking on food, we'll have an easy way to move it and ourselves if we need to. But that's only if that comes up, do you think she'd be able to tell us whether or not it would just be a buy for the happiness end of things? I can ask her, if that'll help.

We're better off sinking the funds we'd use on the car into medicine and clothing.

[We did starve and freeze.]

[he just doesn't see it, personally, but if someone else does he's not against hearing them out]

For now we can invest in more food or medicine or clothes instead, though, if you really don't think we should. [ Since he's not hypocritical and won't just say DEAL W/ IT after ... what happened to him. ] And when we set up our next budget, I'll ask her so we know, just in case it might actually be useful.

Sounds like a better plan to me. Keepin' you guys safe is my top priority.
. . . and I still don't see how it'd be useful, considerin' the situations we've found ourselves in before.

[ LOOKING THOUGHTFUL. ]
But, a car is like a vanship from my world. They're used to travel and get somewhere else fast, and they have enough room in them to carry a couple of people and supplies. So a car would be good if we ended up in a round where something happened to our house or we needed to move somewhere else quickly.
Even in the case of getting robbed again, a car could keep them away from the food stores and money, in another theoretical situations. That's about all of the use I can think of off the top of my head!
