GULGALLANA + SERVAL

[There is a desk in the room in Gulgallana orange. On it are several sheets of paper, a pencil, eraser and a book on Deciduous Forests. It seems the area you have been given in the game is a Deciduous Forest.

What kind of trap will you design?]

I don't get it! You just want me to put like, a net in a forest?

Re: QUESTIONS

[personal profile] inthenude 2014-07-12 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
If that's what you want. You probably wouldn't eliminate many people with a trap like that though...
culpa: (no、 i didn't use my hands。)

Re: QUESTIONS

It's not like I know a lot about traps.

Have you never seen a movie or played a video game?

I don't know?

Re: QUESTIONS

You should try extra hard to win so you can find out then. The best kind of trap is one other people will walk right into, but you can easily avoid yourself.

I prefer traps that play on peoples' emotions, but to be fair that's not how I'm going to judge this game. So you don't have to worry about what I want.

If you say so.

Quite the challenge, isn't it?

[ eyeing serval's clothes, for a moment. ]

Do you know stuff about traps?

Woefully uninformed. No memories of the sort.

We could put a really really cool thing somewhere in the forest but once you walked into it you couldn't get back out.
culpa: (we move side by side。)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
. . but I didn't think of what kinda cool thing yet.

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of like a spider's web, you mean?
creditless: ({listening} do keep going)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be easily avoided, though... unless it was less visible.

We should square away something, though: Your stance on hurting others?
culpa: (forty eight.)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
. . if they deserve it it's their own fault but if we're using these traps on other teams it's probably not good to make them hurt, right?
creditless: ({smug} non-canon smile)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Ideally. We suffer on a semi-constant basis because of the echoes, there's no need to torture each other.

We need to think about a fundamental trap design. Easy to get into, very difficult to get out of. Given we have a woodsy area, we have lots to work with to make something completely invisible compared to its surroundings.

[folds his hands beneath his chin, elbows on the desk.] What would you say to a trap that gets them off the ground and stuck in the air?
culpa: (forty one.)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
We do?

[ noting that away for later-- ]

People can't normally move if they're in the air so that's fine with me.

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
So how about a trick net trap? It'll need to span quite a bit of distance...
culpa: (thirty seven.)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe we can have more than one?
creditless: ({oh dear} not again)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They have to be high enough to keep out of reach of the ground. If their teammates can get them down, it'd be like having no traps at all.
culpa: (forty eight.)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
There're a lot of tall trees in the forest, right?

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Naturally. So maybe a mechanism around the branches. They'll have to be varied, and we'll have to avoid anything that might give it away.
culpa: (i won't make the same mistakes。)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
What about ropes and nets? Like, animal traps that you step on and it pulls the person into the air and wire trips?
creditless: ({oh dear} not again)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be perfect for what we're looking for. It would just need to be adjusted.
culpa: (sleep for days。)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Adjusted?
creditless: thatprocrastinatingjean @ tumblr ({sly} but it will only cost you...)

To make it so that a resourceful group of perfectly intelligent people couldn't rescue their teammates. Ha ha.

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Got any ideas?
creditless: reyos3@tumblr ({so innocent} it's me the judge!)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Other than extending the ropes to loop around taller tree branches?
culpa: (i'm burning in the light。)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
So really really really tall trees, okay.

We should make sure the trees aren't easy to climb, too.
creditless: ({excited} oh you do go on)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
If we could drive spikes into the ground near the trees, maybe it would be harder and more dangerous to climb? So they couldn't climb safely.
culpa: (you're allergic and you never said?)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
But then if they tried and didn't make it they'd get hurt.
creditless: ({listening} do keep going)

[personal profile] creditless 2014-07-12 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose... [sounds like he doesn't really... care]
culpa: (i spoke a silent prayer。)

[personal profile] culpa 2014-07-12 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
We could make the bottoms of the trees really really sticky? So if they tried to climb them they'd just get stuck, too.
creditless: ({lemme} whisper in yo ear)

Team Gulgallanna
Area Given: Deciduous Forest
Trap Description: Wire traps releasing nets from the ground to pick up their trapees into sssuper tall trees! Along with ropes that have the same function--with the ropes extended to loop around taller tree branches as well. The ropes will trap them by their ankles, while the nets will just. grab whomever is standing on them at the time. The ropes and nets will be hidden under leaves and dirt, to keep them from view--while the nets will be wrapped around the base of two trees, the wire thin enough to keep it from being too obvious. Along with those, the bottom of the trees that the traps are attached to will be super sticky.
Trap Function: The rope and wire traps function to catch those who unsuspectingly walk over them and trap them very high up in the forest's trees, while the sticky bottoms of the trees function to trap those who try to climb them to save their teammates.
