Are we only allowed to make one trap? Or can we make multiple to increase the chances of success?
Probably best, so we can save face and keep people from targeting us further.
Nobody cares whether we live or die. Makes us the easy target.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that, because until they actually do anything it's all just talk. Everyone will claim not to hurt a fly, after all. There's just only so many who will live up to it.

Up to five, yeah, which means we should use the full amount.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have one of the five as a somewhat-obvious trap, so that people feel lulled into a false sense of security once they go past it. Not too obvious, though, since that'll make it pretty obvious what our plan is.

Nets and vines, huh...we could have one of those classic "step-in-the-circle-and-wind-up-upside-down" traps half-hidden, maybe...
Snakes aren't bad, either, but I'd be worried that they wouldn't seem to serve the purpose of knocking out teams. They might realize that there's another part to it.

We would have to hope that everyone has severe ophidiophobia, preventing them from moving on. Seems risky at best.
They'd need to be well-disguised, but that could work.
