Today, we take the first step of a very, very long journey together! This dream belongs to a young man, a criminal and his gang who on an otherwise normal heist has gotten in way over his head! Normally, this would be a nightmare, full of blood and death and abject horror!

Fortunately, I have taken the liberty of altering this dream so that it is completely safe and above all, fun! It would not do to have your first foray into the world of unreality to be so unwelcoming! The goal of this game is to survive, reach the end, and solve the mystery...

In that case... I suppose I shall be waiting for things to get started in earnest?

Just talk to the conductor to get started!

[ There's a young red-haired, frumpy looking conductor standing by Amalthea's train! ]

Then I shall.

[TO THE CONDUCTOR.]

Good afternoon, sir. It seems we have a mystery to begin, yes?

[soulping]

Wouldn't know what you're talking about, but if you're ready to embark, just tell me!

[morbirdinterest]

[I was here all along!!]

I am ready. Belt?

[goodbyenurse]

Let us go, conductor.

[soulping]

[ A young conductor ushers you aboard, his frumpy red hair gleaming beneath his hat.

You're in the dinner car of your team's train, where some very clearly high-class people are mingling...for the most part. There's some people up at the bar that you can tell are LESS THAN SCRUPULOUS. Also, one of them is apparently a cowboy? It's 1931, for godssakes.

The cowboy appears to be telling the young nervous man a story. Something about a TRAIL TRACKER, that appears on trains to murder everyone, at which point the train vanishes...obviously a urban legend, but the nervous man proceeds to FLIP THE FUCK OUT ABOUT IT, and runs off out of the car, insisting that he needs to find the young conductor to warn him that everyone on the train is going to die.

The moment he vanishes, you hear the sound of a pistol firing, and people start to panic. Welp.

OBVIOUS EXITS ARE EAST.

[ Advance to CAR 1. ]

[goodbyenurse]

[>TALK TO COWBOY]

Pardon me, can you go into detail about that trail tracker?

[morbirdinterest]

[> TRY TO DISCERN WHICH DIRECTION THE PISTOL SHOT CAME FROM]

[doublefangs]

Shouldn't we... go?

[ >start heading for the obvious exit ]

[soulping]

[ HE IS HIDING UNDER THE BAR NOW BUT

OK ]

W-well, you see, the Train Tracker is a monster that tracks down trains with no stops, just like this one, and eats all the passengers! He can't be stopped, and once everyone is gone...the train disappears!

But is this really the time for that?!

[soulping]

[ IT CAME FROM THE EAST. ]

[goodbyenurse]

...Possibly.

Give me your gun. I have a legend to kill.

[morbirdinterest]

The man in the hat [gestures at the cowboy] is our only source of information on the Trail Tracker so far.

[morbirdinterest]

[...and that's where the exits are. hmm.]

[soulping]

This gun...? I'm not sure it'll be of any help!

[ Belt recieved TOY PISTOL. ]

[goodbyenurse]

And I am going to take his gun. [:)]

[goodbyenurse]

[...Sweet.]

[Also I will grab as much booze from the bar as I can carry. You never know, and testing your inventory space in this thing seems a good idea.]

You heard that gunshot though, right? These people aren't going to be much help...

What for? That echo said this was supposed to be safe...

[goodbyenurse]

It is supposed to ensure we are not harmed.

The goal of this game is to survive, reach the end, and solve the mystery...

That means that survival is a priority.

[ Titan is hit in the head with a TOY PISTOL!

It doesn't hurt, but there is now a sticker on his forehead that reads 'CONCUSSED'. ]
