No, there is not. All living creatures live for the purpose of propagating themselves.

Then perhaps that's what separates humans from animals. We're capable of believing that there are things more important than self-preservation.

For example, there are a number of things I would be willing to die for because I believe they are worth more than my life.

Is it the lives of others? That does not count.

Why would it not count?

If it's assured that your sacrifice will save others, then it's natural that you will go along with it in order to advance the cause of humanity. The fear of death is just a triggered response that forces an individual to carefully consider their options before throwing their life away. When I said self-preservation is the impetus of living creatures, I did not mean on an individual scale.

That is exactly why, in these games, most humans will do what they can to ensure they will win. Everyone here is working towards restoring their worlds, which of course they will believe to be more important than everyone else's.

Actually, I believe all our worlds are equally important. That's why I think it's important for us to work together, even if it's not the most efficient way to win.
