[ The Traveler steps in front of all of you, her arms raised dramatically! ]

Today, we take the first step of a very, very long journey together! This dream belongs to a young man, a criminal and his gang who on an otherwise normal heist has gotten in way over his head! Normally, this would be a nightmare, full of blood and death and abject horror!

Fortunately, I have taken the liberty of altering this dream so that it is completely safe and above all, fun! It would not do to have your first foray into the world of unreality to be so unwelcoming! The goal of this game is to survive, reach the end, and solve the mystery...

Who are you? Are you the "Train Tracker"?

[ He does not respond.

He makes his way around, trying to reach the open window above the dead guy...]

[. . . waiting to see what he does. . . .]

[ AND THEN SUDDENLY, WITH SUPERSPEED

HE IS THROUGH THE WINDOW, AND WHISPERING IN YOUR EAR. ]

Where's your ticket?

[woah, backing away from that shit]

Are you the Train Tracker?

Do you believe in the Train Tracker?

. . . . I do.

Then...I suppose I am.

Is that your answer? You're the Train Tracker, if only someone believes you to be?

[lllloooking at his figure to see if she can recognize it???]

[ KINDA LOOKS MAYBE LIKE THAT GUY YOU TALKED TO FOREVER BEFORE GETTING ON THE TRAIN? ]

[ he nods. ]

Why did you kill those people?

They didn't believe in me.

All they believed in was harming the passengers of this train.

So you left the rest of the passengers alone, and killed the ones who would try to harm them.

Then why did you kill the conductor?

I didn't.

stepping over to the conductor's body, looking the body over more carefully]

[ it's absolutely mutilated. you can't really make out anything besides the hair. ]

[picking the hat up, brushing the top off]

Well, this train doesn't have a conductor anymore, and we've still got to get to New York.

Who said the train doesn't have a conductor?

[ but hold that thought, SUPERSPEEDING PAST YOU to toss a whitesuit that was sneaking up out the window. ]

Still so many of them crawling around...

[blinks, watching that. . . p casually]

Ah. So you know how to operate this thing? That's great.

[ He just grins. ]

I have a job to do.

[ And then disappears out the window! ]

hoists up the machine gun and starts heading back to the dining car, with the explicit purpose of shooting every black/white suited person dead]

[ Y-you go do that.

While you're at it, watching dudes mysteriously vanish out windows, seeing the nervous guy climb up to the roof and punch a blacksuit off the train, all that good stuff, everything suddenly seems to flow dreamily...until the brakes finally stop the train, and you arrive back in the train station.

All of the passengers vanish, and you are free to leave. ]

[. . . hrrrrn]

[well okay, gonna leave, but calling out as she leaves, hat on the ground:]

Oi! Don't forget your hat, what kind of conductor are you without one!

[ HE TOTALLY DOESN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ]
